Sorry, my replies are limited to humor, no help here. I have not had the Service Advancetrac message yet on my Boss. I did have a CEL come on at my track session last Sunday and it cleared itself after sitting for 4 days.

Mine did this twice both times at the track the first time I took it in to have the codes cleared. A normal scanner will not clear these, nor will disconnecting the battery, or cycling the ignition on/off.

It's a level two diagnostic and must be cleared by the dealer.

But.......

Second time I put my street tires back on the car and it cleared itself after driving about a mile or so.

Hey boss man,

Since this didn't happen on the track like GT_350, I recommend you contact your Ford dealer and let them know about this. You may have to go in for diagnostics or to clear the codes. If you need any help, please do not hesitate to PM me.

I did contact Miller Ford in NJ. They said it may clear itself. I just need to find time to drive it. Will take it out this weekend and see if it clears. if not it will have to go in for service. Only problem is weather is now touch and go here in NJ. New Jersey has a bad habbit of WAY to much salt on our roadways. I can deal with rain but the salt is N/G. The part that upset me was that was going to be the last drive untill spring. One question I did not ask the service dept. was, will this hurt the car if driven? Also would there be any problem if I let it go till spring time due to winterizeing. Any thoughts Deysha.

Ok, I’m not a technician, so you might want to ask your Service Manager if it will hurt it or not. Now, regarding you putting it away for the winter, it will still be under warranty so you should be fine.

I had to dig up this thread since I had a problem with the Advancetrac recently. GT 350 there was another Boss running that weekend with the same problem correct?

GT 350 and Boss Man can you remember if you saw anything more then just the "Service AdvanceTrac"? I was driving around Daytona (streets not the track) with someone from Ford and out of the blue the car starts dinging, service Advancetrac come on, the tach drops to zero but the car is still running and the little wrench light comes on. The car reset itself and the two red key messages re-appeared like at start-up.

I had forgot Boss Man saying he had a problem and was thinking it must be a Daytona thing because my car never did that before. Anyway if you guys remember seeing anything else let me know.

besides Service Advancetrac (Ding Ding) I also had the traction control light up on the spedo and the wrench light up on the tachometer. All this backing into my garage. Car still ran and Tach sill operated.

OK this is what illuminated the first time.

Car was in AdvanceTrac sport mode.

- SERVICE ADVANCETRAC — Displayed when the AdvanceTrac system has detected a condition that requires service.

- AdvanceTrac/traction control active: If the light remains on a malfunction has been detected; contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.

- AdvanceTrac/traction control off light: Illuminates when the system has been disabled (by the driver or as a result of a system failure).

- Service engine soon: Miss fire?

- Electronic throttle control: Illuminates when the engine has defaulted to a “limp-home” operation.

- Anti-lock brake system (if equipped): If the ABS light stays illuminated or continues to flash, a malfunction has been detected.

Turned car off behind tire wall, turned on this was still illuminated.

- SERVICE ADVANCETRAC — Displayed when the AdvanceTrac system has detected a condition that requires service.

- AdvanceTrac/traction control active light: If the light remains on a malfunction has been detected; contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.

- AdvanceTrac/traction control off light: Illuminates when the system has been disabled (by the driver or as a result of a system failure).

If someone is reading for the first time go to the first post in this tread for addational details.

Here’s my update to this saga.

Took car to Brandon Ford, Service Manager and I talked in depth about the car and the lights/falut lights and he related he knew who to talk to at Ford.

He called Ford and spoke to one of the engineers who works on the S197 platform.

Engineer replied words to the effect of; “We ran into this problem (SERVICE ADVANCETRAC) on at the Michigan Proving Grounds high speed banked course.” He explained something to the effect of on the high speed banked turns the steering input and the yaw rate don’t like what they see and you get the conditions that trigger; SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, AdvanceTrac/traction control active light and the AdvanceTrac/traction control off light.

The engineer assured us that the fix is……..wait for it…………TRACKEY.

He went on to relate that one of the things TRACKEY does is disable the yaw rate sensors so you don’t run into on the track…….

As far as the Service Engine Soon / Electronic Throttle Control lights he could do a crank shaft position sensor relearn, but because the car isn’t having that problem now there wasn’t much point in doing it.

I agreed and will be getting TRACKKEY before my next track day in January.

I know this doesn’t help with your car having fits on the street…………..

Mine went off pulling up to a light in Daytona about 20 MPH while running the red Key. Ford Racing is looking into this since they saw it happen, that is why I wanted to get as much info as possibile.

It was kind of strange that is only happened in or near Daytona Speedway until I saw Boss Man's post. My lights did not stay on, when he hit the gas everything returned to normal.

I thought the Red Key was for track use only. Never heard of traffic lights on the Daytona track>>>LOL
Good to here things are back to normal to sort of speak. It sucks when there are no answers for these problems.

My car did the same thing just pulling into my spot. It only happened once. my parking space is to the right of the mini van. I guess the slope of the hill must have caused. Guess I will have to get TK just to park it.

Maybe it was turning into the parking space at 100mph plus the slope of the hill setting off the yaw sensors. Or it could have been a "mini-van proximity" alarm.

I do not think the slope had anything to do with it at this point. Since it happened while someone from Ford was driving mine they want to figure this out. Thanks for the report.

Anyone else?

Please let me know what Ford Racing says and they should also forward that info to your dealer.

Took it out the weekend b4 thanksgiving. It was just shy of 70 degrees. I couldn't help myself. But yes she is again in hibernation:BAD!

Still on the fence about TK but I'm not worrying about it because my list has plenty of mods to be done b4 it

this just happened on my car. using trackey, idling, talking to the security guard at the gate at work...we were talking for 3-4 minutes...then the chime sounds and the lights come on as described above. I drove into the parking garage, stopped the car, turned off the car and turned it back on...no more warnings. hmmm.
