Could be a nice way to save a few grand over buying a BOSS Crate for anyone interested, if the price stays where it is now.

Um, yep. that is Big Vito's; the one from that news story a while back about the guy named Perry tearing through a neighborhood in his LS after drinking and smashing into a parked car...

LS097 was his.

Incredibly easy to repair and make it look like if nothing ever happened, Should be a screaming deal for someone who knows or owns a capable body shop.

That's not a bad deal if you can pick it up. Considering what Boss/LS parts go for from the dealer, you could part out most of it probably come out ahead. The X-brace, suspension, and motor could net you close to the asking price.

Oh jesus. I thought it was just a coincidence that the guy was named Perry.

i had recalled him saying he was from the area where that happened and when he disappeared about the same time and the name in the story was Perry i assumed it to be him. Sad on multiple levels. there were so many stories about that, but IIRC the driver was getting in some major trouble, the passenger was apparently hurt pretty badly. that looks like a seizure auction, anyone know if that is the case?

Yea, it does suck. Adding insult to injury, the DUI and reckless operation with physical harm charges could result in a two year incarceration if convicted. Time to spend that insurance money on a good lawyer.

I don't know where it happened, however, I am an attorney in South Fla. For him to do jail time, if I were his lawyer in our jurisdiction, he would have to be on probation, have had prior DUIs or have a suck *** criminal history. In any event, he would be out on bond, unless, again, he was on probation, or had a pending DUI when he crashed the Boss. Even if he had a pending DUI I could probably get him a bond. As far as injuries go, in our jurisdiction, serious has been interpreted to mean life threatening....as an example, two broken legs is not considered serious for these purposes. Unless, the injury "consists of a physical condition that creates a substantial risk of death, serious personal disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ," it is not serious bodily injury, and therefore a misdemeanor, unless he has two priors. Minimum mandatory 10 days in jail if it his second DUI within 5 years.

The dude is probably humiliated and hiding from the people on the message boards.

This car was purchased by Rehagen. They have replaced the damaged rear end bits and the car drives straight. Dean feels he will be able to repair this car. It may yet be resurrected. If anyone has the ability to do it properly, it would be them. They are also repairing the other less damaged LS that was up for auction in Detroit, for the previous owner.
