Recaro Question
Recaro Question
First off, I will be going to the Chicago Auto Show a week from Saturday to get my actual opinion on the seats if I want them at all.
Second, I was wondering if anyone would be looking to sell their seats if they are upgrading their Boss to a full out track car and need to change the seats. I don't need the differential myself, so if I like the seats I may be looking to purchase a pair if someone is getting rid of theirs.
Now I fully understand that even if they are replaced people may want to hang on to them so they have the ability to put the car back to stock some day. But it can't hurt to ask

I originally didn't order the Recaro's but after sitting in them I changed my mind. They are large enough for an average to above average sized American guy and they look pretty cool. I'm 6'2" and weigh 200 lbs and I did not feel tight in them like I do in the sport seats in the M3. They remind me a lot of the Recaro sport seats I had in my 1980 Porsche 911 SC. The fabric and look of the seat fit the rest of the car. I recommend ordering them.
2 grand for a pair of seats is what I'm trying to avoid is all. If I love them when I see them and really want them, I would order them. But then again I could just get seats from FRPP and they would more than likely be less than 2 grand as well.
I dont' expect them to be a lot less because of the air bags. And they won't say Boss 302 on them. $2K is a lot of money but I think most of that will be recouperated in the resale value of the car. The Torsen diff is a nice upgrade whether or not you take advantage of it.
Agreed it's a good price for both. But if I don't need or care about the rear diff at all it just means that I'm paying 2 grand for Recaros. So I figured I would check to see if anyone plans on selling theirs if I even decide that I want them. I've yet to decide because I haven't yet seen them in person.

I am referring to the Recaro's that come in the production Boss 302. Those that you show in the picture are offered through Ford Racing. Same seat, different embroidery. Pictures of the production seats are available on the web.

Yes, the ones that come in the car. But if you order them from FRPP for installation after you take delivery of the car, like the OP wants to do, they have Ford Racing on them like in the photo posted.

I do not think the price is out yet but keep an eye on this thread.
