Reality has set in on 2012 Boss 302 in South Fla.

Maroone Ford here in Fort Lauderdale, FL has a 2012 RR with Recaros on Ebay for the buy it now price of $41,391.00, MSRP is $43,575.00. A few months ago when I went in there they were asking $17,000 over MSRP for a standard Boss 302.

How does the saying go? "Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered."

WOW, that's an amazing "buy it now" price! How is that possible from Maroone? Here's the auction.

And to all the folks that said to me (and others here) we were crazy to suggest these selling below MSRP, well, eat it.

The improvements on the 2013 Boss really screwed the value of the 2012 Boss ...

I don't own a Boss, nor do I plan to. But the '12 sure does look better IMHO.

Yes it did, as what always happens when a change to a car is made.
This is one of the sole reasons I hesitate getting a 2013 Boss or even GT500 as I'm considering.
In spring 2014 (2 years or so from now) when the completely remodeled 2015 Mustang hits the streets, the 2013/2014 models will plummet in value as suddenly thousands of Mustangs will be up for sale or traded in so people can get the new 2015 model.
I like knowing when I get a new car that it isn't going to change much for 3-4 years (a refresh is ok, but a whole new car kills resale of the current model).

I know this is subjective, but I disagree.
I've always liked the look of the HID headlights on the current Stangs better than the old school (looks like the 70's) round halogen headlights. Then add to it that the current Boss didn't get a whole new grill but rather one with plastic black plates where the foglights of the GT usually goes and it looks weird. I love the wheels on the Laguna Seca model, but also don't care for the wheels put on the regular Boss 302. They don't look special AT ALL.
The GT with Brembo brake package has nicer looking wheels, and so does the GT with CS package.
Hope the 2013 Boss 302 gets better looking standard wheels

Then you will never buy and life will pass you by.

Everyone is turning cars over every 3 yrs now....even Ferrari is turning over faster......you only live once ...take te plunge and drive the wheels off of it in those 2 -3 yrs.

I can't speak for others but I bought mine to drive like it was meant to be. If we all bought these for value then we are all screwed!

I don't chime in much on here because the board is far more knowledgable about stuff then me, so I try to read and learn mostly. But this thread got me a little fired up and Had to chime in.

I can't believe the negativity about the car in certain circles. People trying to find every reason not to like the car or something. This is my dream car after I sold my 1970 mach 1 to go to college with the promise to myself when the day came I would reward myself with a new Mustang, well it's here.

It's a Mustang, notorious for some flaws iris history but maintains the greatest history of any muscle car, pony car, American sportscar, whatever you want to call it.

It beat an Audi R8 around a track, for less than half the money.
It's an American icon of a car.
It's a Boss 302.
It,s the best mustang ever built according to most reviews.

I have no complaints and I agree, if you are going to continue to wait on the next best thing, your never be satisfied.

I am more than satisfied with MY Boss 302, #1052, 159 in white.

To each his own, that's the American way, but whatever you decide to drive, drive the wheels off of it, I know I will.

Look at it this way. I've found a restored 69 Boss 302 for 75000. I couldn't find a mint untouched low mileage 1. Maybe someone else can. Let's say it's worth triple the restored one I found. $225000. Yes, nice chunk of change for a car for that originally cost around $3000. But then you have the $$ to buy the car or pay interest, storage fees, insurance fees, maintenance fees. Add all that up for 43 years of not using and driving your vehicle. I'll pass on the collectors item and Drive it like I stole it!

Mine is staying in the garage (except for the occasional 30 minute drive)

Nothing wrong with that either.....it's the procrastination I'm more concerned about...life is too short for many of us, if you have the Opportunity, then take it....no use waiting for the next best...life passes by, then it becomes the conversation of.....I wish I would have, or I should have.....nobody deserves that.....plus, it's the best time in automotive history to be a car guy...every manufacturer has something awesome for everyone , and the used car market for this stuff at half price in only a few years is a gift.

Enjoy the ride my friends!

All I hear is value, value, value, & resell, resell, resell!!!!!

If you want something to hold its value and resell it later by a painting or some other artsy fartsy thing. By A CAR TO DRIVE while you still can. It might all end tomorrow!!

Its like getting the hottest girl around and not taking her to bed because you don't to ruin it.

LIVE TILL YOU DIE

Have to agree with Gary on this, love the look of my '12 and glad I didn't wait until the '13 came out. Wouldn't mind having the Track Apps, but I can live with it. Mine has been in the garage for the winter because of the low temps and salted roads, but planning to take it out soon. Would have been out already, but I am currently a couple hours from home and haven't made the trip back in a couple weeks.

Reality, an this site is an example, the Boss Mustang draws people to it.

So, why does a dealership have a limited edition car on the showroom floor for months. Then as a new limited edition car is about to be releases, and arrive in the same showroom, they lower the price and sell the ilder less spectacular car????

Is this because they finally "Saw the Light"????? It's all marketing.

The Boss drwas the public into the showroom. How do you keep it there and just maybe draw in a few extra folks to the showroom? Post a outrageous price and see what happens.

Ever wonder how many other Fords have been sold to folks who just stopped into the dealer to look at the Boss.
