Here is a new dash kit that is supposed to be availble soon, to allow for a double din unit install for someown with a base stereo.

Antenna is mounted under the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield. Works great! I've mounted the antenna's in this location on my other to cars also. You'd have no idea from looking at the car it had satellite. I've never had reception issues.

I'd love to, but have never really done much with stereo's. Any suggestions? Would also like a small, light weight sub.

Meh. This car still sounds better to me than what's on the radio. Don't think I've ever driven so much without playing music.

Me too. I love my music, but I don't listen as much in the Boss as when I'm in the Bimmer.

Thanks Steve! If you have a pic or two of the mount that'd be great to see.

The JL Flatwedge sub that I had installed is relatively small and light; i'm guessing around 10 lbs or so.

Here is what I had installed:

4 Alpine SPR-68 6x8 speakers

Alpine MRX-M50 sub-woofer amp

Boston GT-40 4 channel amp for Alpine 6x8 speakers

JL Stealthbox for mustang

JL 13w3v3-2 Sub-Woofer

ASC sound deadening

4 channel line level converter to add system to factory CD player

PAC Level Controller for Sub-Woofer Amp

~~~~~~~~~
I agree with the 'I like to listen to the sound of the BOSS' statement's, I get off on the sound of the BOSS, I listen to it the majority of the time in town, especially from stoplight to stoplight. But when I'm not shifting constantly, I like to listen to Music, plus "I" want it to sound as good as the BOSS sounds.
I'm not concerned with the weight issue for racing, because I'm not gonna be unhappy with my very limited track skills (none) or track times, all I want is to have fun on the street and the track and before anyone fires a bullet telling me that I don't know what the BOSS is all about,,,Well,,,it's my BOSS and I won't criticize your BOSS-->
Do 6x8 speakers fit? I though they were 5x7?
It's showing now. I'm going to replace the speakers but not add a sub.
Yes i can, but it won't be until later saturday or sunday. I'll get them up before monday morning.
Thanks for the pictures LQQK, I think I might need to copy that almost exactly.
Don't get me wrong, I love listening to the boss, but on long cruises, good music is an absolute must!!
Look here for an adapter:
I called and they said this kit works for the 2013 as well. I ordered it, so we'll see how easy it works.
Sigh. Yes it does, and the music coming from the engine/exhaust is the best sound, yadda yadda yadda...
I hate satellite radio with a passion, the sound quality is craptastic, unless you enjoy a signal that has been compressed to kill any decent quality. I think streaming through your own portable mobile device of choice - phone/tablet/ipad is a much better choice, but wth do I know...
