Production Delays

Not sure if this is what's causing our delays but.....

The supply of airflow sensors has come under pressure after a Hitachi Automotive plant in Sawa, Ibaraki prefecture, was damaged by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. IHS Automotive estimates that Hitachi makes about 60 percent of the airflow sensors used by all leading car makers including Ford, General Motors, Renault-Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen.

I was told by Ford part of the delay was the lack of 5.0 engines. I hope this doesn't slow things down even more.

While the lack of Japanese parts may not be delaying cars now it will in the near future. This is going to really suck.....

Rick - I agree with you, I don't think we have seen the worst of the impact yet from the Japanese disaster on automobile and truck production. It will also have a trickle down effect for replacement parts as well.
