Check out the new GoPro Hero3 for the track use. I have a basic GoPro but you always need more then one. One cool feature i saw on the new Hero3 is that you can control up to 10 cameras with a single wireless remote.

 

Nice, Im dissapointed that I purchased it when It first came out, great camera but I like all the new features

 

My first thought but then I thought, more cameras, more views.

 

The original is disappointing, but the HD2 is really nice and you can add a wireless back to it. Cant wait to see some video from the new one!

 

Yeah sold my Hero HD and just got in my Hero HD2, and **** if they didn't reveal the 3 the day after I ordered my HD2

Oh well my buddy wants to borrow my HD2 if he likes it I might sell it to him for 200 bucks or so in a few months and spring for the 3.

 

I'm going to pickup a Black Edition.

 

Didnt know a 3 was in the works, so glad I waited and thanks for the info. Must have this by spring. SD aint cutting it anymore.

 

The Black Edition is on my wish list. The wifi remote will be great. Will stop the need for jumping out of the car and starting the camera right before going on the track, or having a lot of useless footage while waiting to go out on the track.

 

This is one thing that will stay on the list of things for my car until I get one.

Saw a video, that's some vivid capture, definitely upgrading.

 

I could, but I think I'll stick with the GoPro 2 since I have it here now, this'll just remind me to research things better next time Also since I work in retail I'll hold on to it just for the sake of princple.

Back when my company had a very open policy on electronics returns we used to have people return their computers on a regular basis just because something new and shiny came out six months later - couldn't blame them for taking advantage of the situation but it ruined an otherwise great return policy and in combination with other returns (always amazed at how many defective big screen TVs are sold around super... ah (dont want to get sued ) big game day) has probably been responsible for some price increases at work.

 

I was really hoping the hero3 would have a GPS or GPS backpac option.

 

i just picked up the white version 2 days ago. it records just as good as the silver version but has a 5mp camera instead of the 11mp, which i dont care about cuz i plan on doing video only. spent all day yesterday trying to figure out why the gopro mobile app would not work with my hero3, until i read the fine print on their website "gopro app support for hero3 will be available nov.12"... now i wait...

 

They downgraded the camera to 5mp???

EDIT: Oh, I see, they have different versions. Black edition preordered!

 

I've still got one HD and 2 HD2's. Gonna stick with those for a while, and then upgrade later on.
