my best car deals (including the Boss) I had the power to say no or walk away.
Dealers needs to sell the car, Boss buyers don't NEED to buy.

No contact today... But I think 6K and track key I would have to break out the check book.. I still like the 2012 front end better though.

Was there any changes in the early engines (228) to the 2013 engines?

Joe why do YOU think I should keep the 12?? I was hoping this thread would bring up more of why some folks prefer the 12 and others like the 13. But that didn`t happen. Me I love them both.. the biggest difference is the font end an... to... me.. I think the 12 looks best from the front. But the 13 has the better strips, trac apps & rear can do the GT500 quad exhaust. This is driving me crazy Bottom line and possible my third mistake I need
one of each..

It's really subjective, however, for me, I like the 12's better. Better front end, painted roofs, non painted rockers, simpler dash, I also like the c-stripe better although the reflective on the 13's is awesome. I'm also not a huge fan of the 13 brake lights. Both are great cars and I'm really glad ford made them so different....but for me personally I dig the 12's.

One thing I notice is the 2013 appears to be longer... not sure if it is or not.. or if it is just an allusion of the side strip & the shape of the nose. But because of that it seems sleeker. Where the 12 & the C strip looks a bit meaner.. or should I say race car like..I need to convince the wife we need 12 cars instead of 11 plus that would make an even number

I guess if I won a 2012 White Boss, would I trade it in on a 2013 to get the few upgrades and different color. The answer would be no. If I have a Boss in the garage, I would not pay $7K or anywhere near that to get a new one a different color. 2K, yup, I would do it.

7K, I would rather pay down what I owe another 7K.

I keep trying (because I really want the V-8) but not matter how hard I try, I just can't warm to the front end of the 13 and 14 Mustangs....there is a 14 5.0 in town with the only option being the 3.73 gear, but i keep stopping and looking at it, and I can't get past that front...I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder so no offense to those that like it, but to me it looks like the nose of those people on that new show "Defiance".

I feel the same way. I love the back of the new cars but not enough to put up with the front. I am of course biased. I have a 12 but the 13 was out when I made my choice. Now the track pack and Recaros is a different story. That is my only sadness when looking at my 12.

I like the barebones rawness of the 2012. What a track car should be. Too many gizmos and gadgets on the 2013.

Id keep the 12. As others have said it sticks to the Boss name more. Raw, simple, and great on the track. The main reason id get the 13 is the color and the rear end. But since you said youre not a fan of the 13 brake lights then thats not an issue for you.

Id just put that money into paying off the car you own now or even upgrading it!

I like the 2012 (owners bias.) although I have the means to trade mine for a 2013 anytime, and I know where several are locally, the look of the 12 is more aggressive. With those painted rockers the 13 looks a but chunky for me. Like the car is very tall? Also, as noted before, the front end is hard to warm to with the gaping grill, and I prefer the hood to hang over the grill. The headlights, I can't decide on, but they seem a little blingy, or like someone bedazzled my track car!

As for the tail lights, it's nice at night. But during the day, I've heard them described as looking like "gaping wounds" by an auto magazine, and have never been able to forget that association. And I really dislike the gloss trunk panel.

All in all, I think the 2012 seemed more of a complete design where the 2013 seemed like changes just for the sake of changes or "freshness." Take the stripes off the 2013 and its hard to tell it apart from the others, including the v6.

Don't get me wrong, I love them both. But the 2012 will always be in my garage.

My advice: keep the 12.

I see your points.. And agree that the 2012 looks more the aggressor or more race car like. I also agree some of the changes on the 2013 like the tail lamps and rear panel look let`s say after market or tuner-ish. But I think my final decision will be to keep the 2012. I don`t owe anything on it and in a year or so find a slightly used 2013 to sit beside mine as I still like them both. That was the kind of feedback I was looking for..TY
