Month old Boss Owner
Fairly new to the forum been reading and learning a lot for the past 2 years since the announcement of the BOSS.
I bought the Boss a month ago. It's unbelievable how great these newer stangs are. My grandma could drive my car thru town on the way to the track! My dad has a 2007 shelby with around 650hp but it is no where near as refined as my Boss. Both great cars but very different to drive.
2012 CO Boss 302 used with 800 miles from a Chevy dealer haha
So far the Boss has been amazing! Definitely worth the premium over a GT especially if you can find a used one for under 40 I drove the car straight from the chevy dealer to my local Ford dealer and had brother (mechanic) remove the side plates. It was a huge improvement! 2 days later I had the Red Key installed. It was ok... maybe because I had just got the car and only driven it twice before the install but I didnt not notice any difference. Even the "idle" was barely noticable but I have to say the launch control and engine braking were definitely cool!
Two weeks later I install the AED tune from Shaun. I had some trouble with the hand held well a huge scare of not having any tune in my car because the device malfunctioned 2 hours away from my house! Apparently while installing a tune or returning to stock form there cannot be ANY electrical interference and for some reason the windows need to up??? Whatever the case it fixed itself and is now working 100%. Shaun was a huge help he even offered to send a friend out to help me. I live in upstate ny... Shaun's shop is in Cali. In short he was great to deal with and I received my tune in 2 days!!
I believe the performance/idle tune is a must have for all 11+ owners. The power is a huge difference and the idle is what the RED key should have done! This past week I installed Jegs Cat Delete pipes.... HOLY HELL is my car loud! Basically straight pipes going out the side. For most too loud, sounds like a pissed off motorcycle! Today I installed Borla S-type mufflers (bought used from a member here). The car definitely sounds better they actually quieted down my side pipes. Now the car is just breath taking to drive and occasionally sit and stair at....
I also took the car to the strip. I haven't drag raced in about 2 years and I was new to the boss so I was far from great but heres the numbers:
This was Bone stock
R/T: 1.03
60: 2.042
330: 5.609
1/8: 8.459@ 87.86mph
1000: 10.884
1/4: 12.908@ 111.75
Going back to the track this friday with above exhaust mods and AED performance tune. Will post times this weekend.

Didn't you read? He's been researching for two years - that means he started reading before he was even conceived. It's obvious what anyone who can start doing their homework on what they want to drive while still swimming around in the nether regions shouldn't have trouble figuring out how to reach the pedals.

OOOh you guys! Picking on the newbie haha! I tried to do a decent write up too.
How can I post a vid on here? Everyone has to hear the Idle tune with cat deletes and borlas....
Forgot to mention the car currently has 2100 miles so i drove it about 1300 miles in a month.
I have 2 complaints about the car.
1. The tranny/shifter - Ordered MGW (takes 4 weeks wtf) - appears to be improving.
One time upon starting the boss the clutch pedal was very close to the floor but still disengaged while it was like this I could not put the car in any gear but after I shut the car off and pull the clutch pedal up to its normal position the clutch was normal.. Who know what happened but no problems like this since.
2. THE BRAKE DUST!!! I know I know it has performance pads but wtf I cant drive the car just a few miles barely touching the brakes without covering my entire car including the very back with brake dust! Is it just me?
Im thinking of ordering ceramic Hawk pads from american muscle any opinions??

Have tracked my 13 three times and only 1300 miles on it, but, no excess brake dust.
On time problem shifting 2nd to 3rd and think it was caused by being at the rev limit which I have read will lock out shifting.

That's BS. I've shifted mine many times bouncing at the rev limiter on the street with no problems. On a track with higher lateral torque levels and much greater heat I'm missing that shift regularly. The rev limiter does not electronically lock out shifting. If it does please explain how.

Hey, it was nice meeting you at the track with my friends Boss and I was the guy with the Kona Blue, but didn't have it with me but talked with you, This Friday was rained out and rescheduled till next Friday, I'll have mine..
Its not because of Rev limiter, it's just that when you're shifting I had to use a MGW to shift it into 3.and 4
Anyways can't wit to hear it and see ya next week.

Sorry for the lower quality pictures... They are all that I have from my Droid
Pic 1 - Car show next to my Dad's 2007 shelby gt500
Pic 2 - 20 minutes after driving it off the chevy lot and to my local Ford dealer to have discs removed (bro is mechanic there)
Pic 3 - Sitting in the garage next to my Dad's 1970 Calypso Coral 428 Mach 1 - Restored to original mint condition
More pics hopefully this weekend from the drag race!

Well here's a video of us 2 racing, not the best video, from a cell phone..
I run 12.46@109 he runs 12.612@113.98
With a little more practice he will be running low 12s possibly 11s.
Temps weren't bad but 80% humidity, we were running almost 3000 da corrected.
His best was 12.4 for the day mine was 12.23@113.0
