Missing my Boss
Missing my Boss
It's been about a month since I've been on here and just under that since I left my Boss in my in-laws' garage. Gotta say this period of not having the car is probably worse than when I was waiting to get it! I haven't even driven a car which as I'm sure many of you would think is torture. I sure think so. Well only 5 more months until I'm back driving the baddest Mustang around. But I know each of you is enjoying your Boss and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Same here buddy.
Left mine under cover on the 27th of May at my parents' house. It'll be over 15 months before I get to drive it again. It's not having as much of an effect on me as I anticipated, I guess that's from having a Bullitt with a blown motor for over 3 years; I've grown accustomed to having a vehicle I can't drive I guess. And in the meantime I am driving my new daily driver, a super sweet 2001 Opel Vectra 2.0 TDI.
I will say it does hit me when I get on any of the parts stores online and start browsing, add stuff to my cart, then realize it'll be a long time before I would get to install anything...

I drove 7000 miles on mine in about 10 months while still putting quite a few on my DD. I love the car and will gladly trade the inconvenience of not having it for a few months for the smiles I have when I'm driving it.
Thanks for your service guys, or girls, just in case. I was Navy myself, but out about 6 years ago. I know what you mean though, cuz my wife asked to drive the Boss today and it is torture not being in control of what happens. But, she's a good woman and let me buy it, so what can I say? As long as she follows my parking rules lol!
As stated above, thanks again for your service!
And unlike you guys at least you will come home to a boss that you can call your own....I definitely miss my boss and do have some regrets about selling it. From among all of the cars I've ever owned the 2 cars I regret selling is my 98 Tacoma 5spd 4x4 and now my boss 302 :/
Btw I still have my suspension left over if any of you service guys/gals would like it at a special price
pm me

Hey brother...and others serving...thanks for your service and come home safe! I see you're from Fort Worth...thought I'd give you a shout out. My wife is going to take me to your home area...she was stationed at Carswell in the late 1980's-early 1990's....got deployed to Germany for the first Iraqi war. She still misses the local restuarants...mainly something called "The Black Eyed Pea"...but she's not sure they are still in business.
Anyway...y'all come back safe...to enjoy the Boss Experience.

Thanks for the support brother, and from every one else!
The Balck eyed pea, aw yes. Been years since I been, but last time I was in that area, I do believe I saw it still going. It's been over a decade since I've been there, almost forgot about that place!
+1 thanks for the support guys. It's an honor and a joy to serve, even with the occasional inconveniences like not being able to drive your beloved BOSS.
But like the old saying goes, absence makes the heart grow fonder; it's just gonna be that much sweeter when we get behind the wheel again!

btw have fun in ROK and stay away from itaewon...friends a JAG there, and he stays pretty busy
Definitely appreciate the support guys! All I ask is that each of you drive your Mustangs as much as possible and enjoy every minute of it. I think I can speak for my fellow military here and say that's what makes what we do worth it. Being here in Japan as well, I've not seen many American cars, but there is an older Camaro here on base and the Exchange Car Sales has a 5.0 sitting out front. I love walking by and seeing the locals taking pictures with it because it's not a common car here.

I hate to bump an old thread, but didnt feel as though making a new one was needed.
I freaking miss my Boss sooooooooo bad right now. I have 32 days till I fly home and can finally drive her!

I fly home in a week. Been a while since I drove the Boss.
Have P Springs, FRPP LCA's, Relocation brackets, Panhard Bar, Clutch Line, Dot 4 fluids all standing by. Should be fun. Hope to pick up MM Camber Plates, cooling scoop and front brake cooling system from a member on another site.
Oh yea....I get to see the family also.

I've had the itch to buy things for the Boss while I've been gone. I've gotten some stuff but since my wife can't/won't touch it, it's just sitting waiting for me. Mostly cosmetic but I'm holding out hope for some exhaust pieces to drop in price a touch. Almost halfway home though...sometime around Thanksgiving.
