Mid America Shelby Meet
Mid America Shelby Meet
Is anyone attending? I was kicking around making this year and running Hallett. Before I decided I just wondered if anyone else here is going.

Because I'm a Boss owner, and was thinking about taking my Boss there, and running Hallett, and wondering if any other Boss people were going to. In previous years that I've attended, there usually are a few Boss owners. I was wondering if any of the Boss people here were considering attending, that was why I asked here.

Brian Hanchey (AST-USA) is planning on being there if his mustang is ready. Unfortunately, I will be a Hallett the weekend before for the NASA Texas event. Might try leaving the boss there, flying home and back. Will have to see what kind of humor my accountant (aka: Wife) is in before I propose that
And isn't that a black LS leading the pack in the pic right beside it? Anyhow, several years back the Tulsa show featured the Boss 302 (which was strange, but a nice tribute). It was the first time I had seen that many Bosses on a given weekend in a very long time, and the folks who hosted the show did a really good job. I've been wanting to go back, and if enough of the new Boss owners are going, this may be the year.
We are going this year for the first time.
A good friend of mine who has worked for SA for a while told me what a fun event this is. Lots of goodies to buy, a Friday night banquet and lots of track time. She told me that if you plan to track Hallett with any seriousness, you will need two sets of tires & two sets of brakes. If you are just going to "grandma" it around the track like me, then don't worry... still might need some new brakes though.
I'm really looking forward to this; I've been wanting to go for a number of years. Unfortunately, they put the car show on Sunday instead of Saturday. Too bad, a lot of people don't stay for the last day because they need to travel back home. There will however be a huge number of cars there for the show Sunday.
Looking forward to meeting any TMSers down there. If you see a 2013 white w/ blue vert GT500, It'll probably be us. I don't think that they made too many verts in this color combination.

I'm planning on being at Hallett that Thur-Fri-Sat. Will probably drive '13LS235 back and forth to the track and on the Thursday night cruise. But the race car will be seeing the track time in the Late Model Exhibition.... I'll most likely be helping MRT where ever they need me on Saturday; will drive when they say I can.....
It has been a very long time since I have attended this event 96,98,00 & 02.
It is a blast open track, drag racing, banquet with lots of door prizes, and a great car show
To bad it is a 1600 mile one way trip! I like to get there some day again!
