M6731-FL820

Has anyone tried an M6731-FL820 on their Boss 302?I dislike the small FL500S filter.The threads are the same,22x1.50 and the filter gasket is only .080 or so larger.The filter base appears to be easily large enough and there is plenty of room for the larger cannister.

Thanks, Guy

I sure hope it works. I put one on my Boss last weekend when I did the first oil change.

It should. FRPP claims their version of the 820S will work on the 5.0L w/ TiVCT. Therefore, I'm assuming it also works on the Boss 302.

The link to the filter I plan on using:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=7567
(which says fits most FL-500 applications).

And the link to a case:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=7703
(which says it works on the 5.0L TiVCT).

I bought a case of the FRPP 820S

I'm going to use the Purolator Pure One filters -
FL820 = PL24651
FL500 = PL22500

The PL24651 filters were about $7 which is a great price. Plus Purolator has a rebate that almost makes the filters free.

Worth a look.

I called FRPP about this and was told that the M6731-FL820 not only works on the Boss 302, but would be the desired filter to use. I question why they would use the 500S at all then for them?
