LS Gauge Pod

This is a probably a silly question but the only real option that the LS has that I want on my standard boss is the three guage pod - does anyone think there will be a way to get that aftermarket or at a later date and have it installed?

I ahve a feeling the answer is no but maybe someone else knows something i dont, thanks in advance.

I'm hoping for this as well. I think FRPP might offer it. I can only hope that it's 100% plug and play though...

Shelby offers a gauge pod for the SuperSnakes that might fit.

Overboost, you might want to check out the Aeroforce Interceptor gauge. It is truly plug and play. I run one in my GT500 so I can keep an eye on IAT2 and ECT on track. It allows you to display two parameters in a static mode or up to 8 parameters (2 at a time) in a rotating mode. I have mine mounted in the A/C vent just to the right of the steering wheel. You can also get an A pillar mount and I think they have a dash mount. I prefer the A/C pod because the A pillar and dash mounted gauges actually interfere with my line of sight on track (ok I'm a bit ****). The gauge has a long cord that simply plugs into your OBD-II port under the dash on the driver's side. You can route the cables easily without removing anything other than the A/C vent. You can buy the A/C pod mount from Lethal or Roush for sure, but I'm guessing many vendors carry it.

Here's the link to Aeroforce's site: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/ I'll be putting another one of these in my Boss.

The other thing the LS pod has is a lap timer and I think some other measures like 1/4 mile and 0-60 time. I'm not sure how accurate they are. If you just want a good plug and play lap timer, check out ww.krosswerx.com and for $250 you can get a GPS lap timer that will log lap times and top speed. I've been really happy with mine.

I've seen those. I ran the MSD Dashhawk V2 in my old car. It was decent, but had the worst support of any product I'd ever seen.

Me too, but the face fonts are currently different for the comparable FRPP gauges.

Gonna be a bit more spendy but I'd like to put the AiM MXL Pista into the car like the FR500S/FR500C. Any gauge you want, plus data logging.

The 2011 Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog lists the gauge pod as available, as well as the LS front splitter, the brake cooling system, and Recaro seats (although they will say 'Ford Racing' not Boss 302).

tony - thanks for posting that - I've been trying to find the LS splitter on the fordracingparts.com website, and can't find it, but it shows on the page you posted. The online catalog doesn't even have the part number. Do you know where it is online? Thanks

Tony, did the catalog have prices for any of the new items? The only item I found on the site was the diff cover, everything else wasn't added yet.

I have not seen it online so far. Someone at a local Ford and Mustang performance shop had just received the catalogs and gave one to me, noting that these parts were in it. Sounds like the website needs some updating!

That was the first thing I was looking for when I got it! It did not have any prices listed in it unfortunately.

Thanks for posting this!!

I can't tell from the scan, do the gauge faces have the same wide font as the Boss cars, or are the number narrow like the currently available gauges?

On a side note, the diff cover pictured differs from the one seen on display at the LA show. The show version has an OEM part number cast into it, and has at least the drain hole drilled and tapped for easy oil changes. The fill plug was cut away in the show version, but I presume it was also fitted.

Here's another question: did the catalog also show the "Trackey" (red key) and tune?

This is what is in the catalog on the description page for it...it's hard to see the font unfortunately, even without the scan's resolution taken into account.

I could not locate any information on that.

Tony - thanks for all the info, I think the one thing I really wanted out of the LS was the gauge pod, it just struck me as cool for some reason, nice to know that it looks to be a part that can be added to my Boss at a later date.

thanks again, and if anyone hears of a price, please share.
