What I'm trying to do as cheaply as possible is run 11.9 consistently or better.
When I go to the track each month, Everytime I'm there I run 12.22, 12.23.12.26,
My tranny's working fine and I refuse to powershift it.
Since I bought the car new, the tranny always made a whine and hasent gotten worse or better.
If I can't get 11.9s I might as well stop, I will be paired up with a 11.87 guy each time and I don't see myself ever winning unless he screws up., but he runs a pretty good light everytime.

I'm looking forward to your results. I always felt that most of the gain came from the Tune not the CAI.

Might as well be selling a Radio Antenna that adds 20HP with an asterisk that says, "requires tune".

You asked for opinions. You have mine. But, what do I know - with only a few hundred hours of dyno testing Ford engines.
My feeling was that these cars come with a CAI and that the tune will show some improvements. So, if I can get just the tune I might go that way and leave the airbox alone. Maybe a drop in K&N for some more airflow?.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of the dyno testing. If the aftermarket airboxes are doing something I'm in for one. If not, I'll leave it alone.

I ran 11.811 with a tune that only corrected the air fuel for a JLT the car picked up 9 hp with the JLT and performed at mike Dez racing final number
Was 401
We added zero timing just a plane Jane safe tune

With 4 year old mt drag radials I ran that time with a 1.78 60ft at 117mph in september at new England drag way .... I have all this posted somewhere on here also I did have upr suspension direct non- adjustable suspension and nothing else when I made that pass

now I have a few more goodies hopping for a 11.5 tommrow night

He emails me back saying JLT does also.
So I'm wondering what should I do. Figured I'd ask around here and see what the concensus is.
Thanks
Our CAI actually utilizes the factory cold air duct and doesn't just let the duct blow in the general direction of the filter.

The SCT tuner will back-up both your stock and TracKey tune. If you re-load the stock file you are able to re-use your TracKey as before.

The IAT's when running the JLT on my car show to match Ambient Air temp when car is moving .. so apparantly the JLT design is sufficent. It is not better or worse than the STeed intake. BOth designs are worse than factory since the factory box is enclosed and is drawing ambient air in even when the car is not moving. I have nothing against Steeda or JLT but Steeda tries to bash JLT and sell your product in every CAI thread on this forum ... its getting a little annoying.

Well, besides that, I still like the Steeda design better

You're entitled to your opinion. However, I was not bashing, I was simply clarifying how our's utilizes the cold air duct compared to the JLT. (which is what the OP was doing, comparing the intakes)

If you're happy with your JLT, that's great. Do I think you would be happier with a Steeda? Yes, absolutely. As such, I have the right to point out how our products are superior to the competition. Whether you choose Steeda or not, you should be well-informed of your options and the differences between them beforehand.

I wonder how far off a tune is between the JLT and Steeda?
Maybe Ill buy a Steeda CAI and your tune.especially if you give me a good deal. : )
Then I'll have a JLT tune without the CAI,since I didn't order it yet.
I believe the only reason he pushed a JLT was because he had s tune for it.

Thanks for the link. I have always used the stock paper filters (@20K now, replaced a few times) because I could never find credible data on the K&N. This makes me glad I did.

That pic can't be the off the shelf Steeda CAI. I just bought mine 3 weeks ago and it's not polished like the pic. Brandon?

That is our previous heat shield. The newer ones are powder-coated black.
