Just got a call from my dealer (Jordan Ford, San Antonio) and he told me that Kona Blue is gone, because of the earthquake in Japan. He said if it isn't already built, it won't be. Furure orders (like my Q3), will not be honored in that color.

He said Sonic Blue would be replacing Kona. I did not post this in the Sonic Blue thread, because I thought it deserved it's own. We might be able to use this one to hook people up with Kona, if that's what they really want.

I'll start, I really want Kona. I have a Q3 allocation that I might be able to trade. I have not told the dealer the new color that I want. If anybody knows of a Kona Blue just sitting on a lot, let me know. I'll only buy with Recaro/Torsen and at MSRP, so I don't know what kind of chance I have, but it is far and away my first choice of color.

Anybody else get a call like this?

I noted that my local dealer had a KB on order and Ford is now showing a CO car at that dealer. Since the car is still not delivered, they may have been forced to change their order.

 

I don't want to get your hopes up but I have seen 2 koras around my area but it's in Minnesota so that might be a problem

the boys at Barrett-Jackson in 2050 will be talking about this moment... wonder which one will be more "valuable" or sought-after in the future; the un-planned reintroduction of Sonic Blue, or the limited run of Kona Blue?

 

I'll take Kona or Sonic but I think I'd rather have Kona. It really won't matter as long as my car is here before the Laguna Seca race in July. I better call my dealer and let him know it's not an issue.

 

I'd call your dealer and tell him he may have jumped the gun. All reports say that everything is getting back to normal.

Yep I called it. Sonic is a much better color. Next tk get pulled will be yb. I'm still curious if comp orange will continue. I think it will all the pulled colors have been metallics.
