I like bacon.
I enjoy reading Dan Niel's reviews in the WSJ, but it does seem that he has missed the point of the Boss 302 entirely. He can criticize the interior all he wants while we have fun driving the living s**t out of the 'em.
A fairly good review overall, but I think he missed what the Boss 302 is all about in the end. Nothing can touch it for the money. If he was expecting a Porsche, then don't forget to bring the banker..........
I don't think he missed the point at all, as evidenced by this quote:
He clearly accepts the compromise you must make at the price point for this kind of car. He obviously has a great deal of respect for its performance but as a reviewer, he is selling his audience short if he doesn't mention the abysmal interior for a $40,000+ car.
The Boss's problem is an interesting one: The car's performance is so ridiculously stout, smart, evolved, so beyond reasonable expectations, it really belongs to a sports coupe costing twice as much, which you'd think would be a source of great pride of ownership. But then you start looking around the cabin and realize, crestfallen, it's still just a Mustang.
The problem with these reviewers that get hands on everything is that they get jaded. Hell yeah put the Boss sitting next to a Porsche or Audi and the interior wont look as good. i also hate when these guys don't even really know what they are talking about. how can you even talk about handling when you admit to not putting the hammer down lol. and what an asshat, its a GT500, not 500GT. he was more interested in making fluffy statements and witty banter than the car. That story tells perspective buyers nothing other than a M3 is nicer on the inside. i'd like to put him and a driver of similar skill on a track and see what car comes out on top.
