How long will the Boss be produced for?

I was initially waiting for the redesign in 2014/2015 before I traded in my 08GT, but every day I am more and more drawn to the new Boss. My issue is financially, I will not be able to afford one until next fall which would put me into 2014 production I would assume.

So, anyone know if there has been a time frame for production or too early to tell?

I apologize if this has been asked before, I looked a bit and saw nothing.

Everything I've seen suggests the BOSS will be limited to 3,500 units per year for MY 2012 & 2013. I'm not as familiar with how that translates into build dates as some of the folks here, but it's a starting point.

Unless Ford is totally lying, this will be a two year only model.

To be honest I've never seen an official release from Ford on most of the stuff we take to be true about the Boss.

Early articles and Ford press releases stated 4000 total for both years (combined). This included the LS (3500/500 or 3750/250). Given that we are heading into Q3 with only 1200-1300 units made, 4000 is closer to the 2-year total than 8,000. Never know though......

I don't see them even hitting that number. No need, without buyers.

I read a release that said all 2012 Boss Mustangs were pre-sold. If that means to dealers we may not see many 2013's if they still have '12's sitting on the lot, no?

All 2012 Boss's were not pre- sold. There are dealers around that currently have unclaimed Boss's in inventory. Most of them are looking for a stupid size ADM. I have had a dealer in Houston contact me to come look at one he has in stock.

That's what I remember hearing early on, per year, correct?

Yes, per year. Anything can happen but from what I and others have been told it looks like Ford will stick to the number and a two year build. I know there has been a history of Ford build more cars then announced so only time will tell.

(Some members here have been lucky enough to meet people directly involved in the Boss and Mustang program and we have all been told the same thing.)

We were also told we'd be able to get a Trackey.

It will come, the fact is - it is not Ford's fault.

I've had my Kona Blue on order for 4 months now and still no build date. Seems to me that FORD can't get them out to the guys who have them on order but was able to get some to the dealers who many are trying to get well over MSRP on eBay. With the limitations on options, seems to me that they should get to the owners first - rather than the dealers trying to make extra $$. Anyway, I read the same thing about 4000 '69 like in 2012 and 4000 '70 like in 2013. Those numbers include the LS models.

If your dealer doesn't have allocation it can be on order for 40 months and you won't get it.

Yeah, it will be like all those extra Shelbys sitting around waiting for a buyer.

Is that the response you were looking for?

The pattern pretty much has been a day of building stock orders, followed by a day of building retail orders. rinse and repeat.

I don't know what you mean by that smart guy, but if you want a smart answer I'll give you one. The Shelby's are sitting there because you can't afford them and had to settle for the cheapie poo 302.

Now the real reason for my statement is that it seems to be that ford is not even hitting the production limits they set. The 2011 GT500 was limited to 5500 units last year and ford only hit 5300. I also noticed that someone here just got his built and it was only in the 1300 hundreds in August. Do the math? They probably won't hit the number.
