no other upgrades needed...as long as you don't abuse the car or install slicks and are drag racing regularly the factory rear and clutch should hold up fine. My car has zero issues with over 630 RWHP on the street, but then gain I don't beat it!! And besides I would RATHER the clutch be the "weak" point and give out before the rear, driveshaft, or trans LOL
After typing this I just realized I reallt SHOULD intall a driveshaft safety loop "just in case"

Still have not "officially" put it up...it's so unique i am having trouble with the idea of getting another one. I might do a FOR SALE thread and see what happens...I really need a number higher than MSRP for me to have it make sense!

Forced induction is likely great for those who want to goof off on the street and maybe the occasional 1/4mi fun at the track. If you want to put the car on a road course for any period of time (the car's design intent), then the SC's gonna be more of a liability than an asset.

Did I miss something? Why is he selling already? Wanting a 2013 so soon?
I don't get it. The Boss is made for track(i.e. ROAD COURSE) use. I get people buying the GT or GT500 for drag racing, but why the Boss? You could save yourself a lot of money by simply getting a GT, and installing the Boss intake, exhaust, mapping device, and then putting on your drag-specific suspension. The Boss's suspension is (obviously) set up for turning right and left.
Not saying I have a problem with it. Definitely NOT my cup of tea, but I'm the last person to tell people what they should do with their OWN equipment. I fought under the flag that represents American's freedom to do whatever the heck they want (legally of course), and maybe because of that, I have an intense respect for OUR rights. Just quizzical to me..
Anyway... I wonder what Hennessey charges for their 48hp 'kit' Judging by them trying to make the 'list' of stuff included as long as possible,I get the impression it might be just a TAD more than it's worth?
. And the 'Badges'..? Again, I don't know about anyone else, but the Boss is it's OWN car..I personally wouldn't be putting ANYBODY's badges on it. That'd be sacrilegious IMO.

The beginner kit, the HPE492, gets cold-air induction, performance headers, a high-flow exhaust and the company's engine-management calibration for $3,995, or $5,495 installed.

This. I really can't comprehend a reason to supercharge a Boss. If you want a blown car, why wouldn't you just buy a GT or GT500? To use 683 rhwp you would need so many supporting mods it's not even funny. Um, yes you need a DS safety loop front and rear with that much hp. No way the stocker is rated to support that. Then you also need to upgrade to a T6060 trans or you're going to most likely destroy the MT-82 if you intend to actually use all that power. The rubber bushings in your control arms are likely going to be in trouble, especially if you actually put any rubber under the car to be able to use that power. Yes the rear end will also likely be short-lived with sticky tires. On top of all that, as Kendall mentioned you will have all kinds of issues keeping that car cool. Bottom line, you have a ton of unusable horsepower, which essentially makes it less valuable than a stock car.
The MT82 is capable of handling the power...it's not a drag racer so no power shifting or hooliganism and it will last. I hear you on your opinion on the cooling and I will watch it at the track if/when I take it for a HPDE. The HP is definatley not unusable as it is (in my opinion) the best handling Mustang ever built. I have GT500 power with less weight, better looks, and better handling. It's unique and all mine... to each his own

I just want to sell it ONLY because I have a Laguna Seca available to me and I WANT ONE BAD! LOL It's a sickness...and yes it WILL have some sort of major motor mods done

Btw a stock Boss, Gt500 etc trans will not stand up to abuse but there are plenty of sick high hp Mustangs on STOCK trannys running just fine. Just have to be smart, just like anything else.

(minus the n02) 421 to the wheels, made the same power as my blown 10 did and i can run it all day at the track.honestly I am going to dyno the car again soon with the new tune with and without the CAI and if the power is close with and without the CAI im going back stock there to run the track key tune.

With 444 horsepower, the Boss' power is unusable on the street. I cannot imagine wanting more.
