I guess we should have seen this coming! New in the 2012 Mustang Order Banks this morning I found Grabber Blue available on the Laguna Seca model (not the standard Boss 302, though). But, it is not available for retail orders and will only be available as a Barrett Jackson model. It shows a stripe code of 85E, which is different from the other Boss 302 stripe codes.

 

Thanks. What isn't a retail order? Fleet? How would an average Joe get one?

Interesting in that B-J colors are Black and Red, and this is Grabber Blue. I guess stripes are either White or Black. Got to assume B-J badging will abound.

Any idea on pricing?

No doubt we see one on TV in January

 

My guess (and that's all it is - a guess) is that "Average Joe" needs to be at the Barrett Jackson auction in January to buy one and that pricing will be determined by the highest bidder.

Five Oh Brian said there is another colour code listed for the stripes with grabber blue. He doesn't know what the colour is.

 

fwiw - Stripe Code 85E was Ebony for the 2008 GT500.

This could be Grabber Blue / Ebony roof / hood / accents

 

Why does Ford do stuff like this? I'm sure many would love to get the Boss in GB and yet they only offer it for BJ auction car. Stupid!

 

Ford can't bring all the rabbits out of the bag at once.

Keep in mind the Boss was the culprit which made GB famous. I predict GB will be available for the 2013 MY to keep the excitement going before the demand levels off.

Any bets on the rear window louvers?

 

I much prefer the '69 C-stripes.

And, considering that the Mustang Team is going after more function than style with the '12 Boss 302, I'd guess that the rear window louvers won't be offered from the factory. Dealer installed or aftermarket will be the only way to get them. I had the louvers on my Azure Blue '03 Mach 1 and the black items really popped on the bright blue.

 

Regardless of whether is shows up in 2013, I agree with Whammer - stupid

 

Still not as stupid as offering the LS with only the red-on-red-on-red-on-red-on-red-on-red-on black/silver. Dumb.

 

Turns out the 85E is Race Red stripes, so looks like the B-J Boss 302 will likely be Grabber Blue with Race Red roof/stripes/etc. Not feeling it....
