i forget how to do it, but the manual also tells you how to make the camera start on the settings you like each time too.

Also to help with wind noise, get some vacuum caps to put over the two buttons. I just picked up an assortment from autozone and picked the two that fit the tightest. trim the bottom of the caps so they sit flush, and use a small zip-tie if neccessary.
