Getting rid of Boss?

So I've been offered a 2012 GT500 in place of my 2013 Boss 302 GHIG both are stock. My question is should I swap or keep my boss? What's the pros and cons here. Thanks guys!

IMHO, you stepping back a generation. I'd keep the boss.

I would keep the boss. It's a more limited run vehicle. IMHO, it is a car for most real world uses. The boss is a nimble track star. The gt500 is a trex. Both can be fun, I'm a fan of both, but if I could only have one it would be the boss. If I wasn't poor, I'd have a boss now.

Tough if you are looking at the numbers....

2012 GT500
3929 Coupes
905 Verts
Total 4834

2013 Boss
3526 regular and 747 ls'
Total 4273

But the Boss has a two year production verses who knows...on the 500

If you are looking for the convertible with attitude then the 500 is it.

If you want a bad *ss corner carver and a long time investment I would stick with the Boss.

Bottom line there is a lot of GT500`s out there with little to no mileage.

You can own a GT500 and you are still not the BOSS

Are you considering this trade for the gain in hp with the GT500?

I'm looking to trade for added hp and the awe factor and fear of the cobra is nice.

Boss. I love the wow factor from the general public. Most don't know have unique it is, but the special stripes and sound turn heads. And the few that do know what it is, will comment or give a thumbs up.

My favorite is when I'm getting gas and I am rolling up to the pumps with the track key pumping out that lopey idle, and seeing subtle double takes from passers by or folks filling up.

Any way you slice it, the Boss is a little/ lot more special than the GT500, depending on your perspective.

Tough call. I think if I had a '12 GT500, I'd always be thinking about how the '13 had more power, etc. I'd personally keep the Boss because it was only a 2-year run. I still get people coming up to me about the Boss. I've had Cobras in the past and expensive Germans like an RS4 and no car has gotten the ooos and aahs like my GHIG Boss. Still the GT500 is more of a monster and if you don't track your Boss that much, it might be a better call.

Aren't the 12 GT500's 550 or so? Save the money, get a Paxton or JPC turbo kit and have the "awe" factor and wax GT500's.

Put a procharger on the Boss and laugh as you fly by the GT500's.

And GHIG is the BEST color for the Boss. I kind of wish I had gotten that color for my 5.0.

The sheer torque of a Shelby is awesome. If I was offered this trade I'd take the Shelby.
I've driven my gf's modded '08 (528rwhp, 531rwtq) and that thing gets looks and is an animal when the right pedal is floored.

Shelby all the way.

Pretty sure, not positive stock to stock the boss is quicker than the 12' gt500 1/4 mile wise. I personally pulled a 12.41 completely stock and i think she has more in her. But drag racing isn't what the boss is about. I know it would run quicker than the gt500 on a road course. Pretty sure modding the 500 would have better results though. Your call.

This.

This is why I couldn't pull the trigger on one... I'd always want that '13 and for now it's just too expensive!
