As long as everything works out, I'll have a 2013 boss next week. With 2100 miles. Is there anything I would need to look go when I inspect it and test drive before signing to papers?
Find out if the track key has been activated and if the red key is included... if not, leverage that into the deal (I did this myself). Even non-Ford dealerships seem to know that was a selling point of the car... I got $250 more off the price strictly because they didn't have the red key to give me. There is more to this than the red key, though... if the programming has not been installed or has been reflashed and removed it will cost you $302 to buy the programming key from Ford. IF they have the red key, start it with that and see if "Track Key Activate" pops on up on the dash info screen. If so, you're golden.
Even if you plan to mod and tune it later, might as well get it out of them.
The owner's kit would be really nice to get as well, but if they do not have it you can't do much. Replacements without the engraving on the keychain are available for $125.
as others have stated:
track key
owner kit
car cover/floor matts if it came with them
mods and factory parts>>you want all factory parts
history of car along with any paper work for trips to the dealer
tire kit in the spare wheel well
and a good test drive with windows up to listen for any rattles or clunks
Listen close to the engine when you start it cold for any ticks. some have reported a ticking sound when cold.
Good luck and may the force be with you Luke.
Now we need to know what color and what serial# and what options...torsen-seats/car cover to become a full member into the family... Just kidding
It has the red key but they don't know if it's been activated. I told them how to check though. The car is gotta have it green with the recaro Torsen package. The build number was in the mid 1000s. I would hassle them about the price but it's already under kbb.
AND, get one of these, the cup holders are horrible in the Boss, placed right where you need to put your arm when you shift. I have this on the passenger
side floor board, the waif is in charge of the drinks.

Yeah, the cup holders in all the 13/14 Mustangs suck. But if you get 7oz bottles of beer, they don't get in the way as much.
I used to shift around the bottles if I had anything in there. Usually I just threw my water bottle on the passenger seat but that was back when I used to drive a car.
In 2013 there were 4,318 total Boss 302's built including the Laguna Seca's with 792 GHIG cars. Aside from the Sterling Grey and Candy Red charity cars, the School Bus yellow Laguna Seca's are the rarest color followed by the Grabber Blue Boss.
The 2012 Boss 302's are more rare with only 4,018 cars being built. The 2012 Boss 302's is the only year that I can tell that has 1 of 1 cars outside of the charity cars. My Laguna Seca is one of 13 MP cars owned by Ford and 1 of 9 that made its way out of Ford Motor Company and offered for sale.

You mentioned a Sterling Gray LS. I could have sworn I saw an LS in Ingot silver. Was I seeing things?

In 2012 they had Ingot Silver/Red Boss 302's. Although if it was a 2013 it was probably a clone or someone swapped the front bumpers which happens a lot as the 2013 front bumper helps prevent these cars from overheating on track.

And yep. That's the color. I saw more green for sale than anything. Even though I've never seen one in the wild. Even around Dearborn.
GHIG was my first choice, and really the only 2013 I would have wanted. I like the Grabber Blue too....
I think the Black and the Silver 2012's were amazing looking, with the cool contrasting colors, but would have
had to get a vented hood.
