Ford Racing Boss Springs

Well they're finally out.

http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...p/m-5300-t.htm

What else will I need for a proper suspension alignment considering the drop?

Update: Crap I noticed the ETA of 6/21/13...the wait continues.

do reloc brackets and LCAs in the rear if you drop it

Adjustable PHB would probably help too. Whiteline stuff is amazing.

Are these the same as the Eibach pro kits ? Eibach makes the other Ford Racing springs.

It's interesting that these springs lower the front 15mm and rear 35mm. The book that came with my Boss about its development (that I just finished reading) stated that the engineers lowered the front but left the back as-is because lowering it further degraded handling.

That is odd, since the 302S and 302R I believe come with coilovers and sit way low.

I'm guessing that lowering the front further went against Ford's curb approach and other standards but that taking the front lower allows taking the rear even lower to reduce the angle.

Just a guess.

Possibly, after doing the P springs I don't get why Ford had it so high from the factory. Reducing the brake dive/body roll and lowering the center of gravity a little helped a ton.

I know, I did the same. $$$ too, natch. Only drops the rear around 1.4 inches anyway so I'll let someone else go first.

The book mentioned that the engineers had to meet all of Ford's internal requirements for driveability (probably not the right term) such as driveway entrance, parking bumpers, etc. I think this probably set the limits for the front height and then the rear was positioned to get the best handling out of the car.

If your plan is to use the car for track only drop her as low as your regulations allow. If you want to drive it on the street and not worry. Don`t move it at all. I lowered one of my Mustangs 2" and it is a pain in the rump.. I have to watch everywhere I go and if there is a dead carcass on the road...you can`t straddle it..I would never do it again for the street.

How do these new "T" springs compare to the P springs that have been out for a while?

That's what I am trying to figure out. I am fine though with the drop from the P springs and more would be a little silly I think.

Since I drive my LS on the street as well as the track, I'm trying to determine the best "compromise" spring to choose. The T springs lower the front less than one inch (19/32") while the rear is lowered 1 3/8" so I don't think they will be drastically different in terms of overall ride height. Since no one seems to have the T springs yet, it is hard to determine the impact on handling and streetability.

Drop shouldn't be the only thing anyone is worrying about. I wish Ford would post spring rates for their springs so you could see if they are stiffer/softer and whether they will work well with your shocks.

Ford's description said it will be slightly rougher riding with the new springs. No thanks. I put FRPP-P springs on the rear just to level the car. Otherwise I think it's fine.

Probably referring to the Ford Racing M-5300-P spring. I just had a set installed today also on the rear only of my Boss:

EDIT: also had installed "M-5570-A" jounce stops and an "M-4264-A" adjustable panhard rod.

The jounce stops because you now have shorter springs and the adjustable Panhard bar because if you look at the Mustang from the rear you will see the wheels are slightly aligned to the left of the car body.

Why have you guys wanted to only lower the rear? I would think from a performance standpoint you would want to also put the P springs on the front so that you have springs that have complimentary rates.
