Good info, I have read loss was around 13% many times, where did the 20% come from?
Also has loss diminished over the years in today more refined cars? For example what percent of loss would you expect in today's cars as compared to a 60's muscle car.

2006stiguy, are they writing the performance tune to the second PCM "slot" or are they just overwriting your stock tune? In other words, can they program one key for the stock tune and one for the performance tune? I'm assuming you'll get an SCT X3 handheld so you could reflash it to stock, but just curious. Since you're going to an off-road X you probably wouldn't be alternating between tunes anyway or you'd get a CEL for no rear O2 sensors.

If it was a Mustang Dyno, I wouldn't feel bad about 360. Those are notorious for reading "low". Either that or Dynojets are notorious for reading "high".

Definitely. We're talking about a car designed for road course performance, not shoving it as fast as we can down the 1/4 mile. Not that lap times won't benefit from more peak hp and tq, but it's pretty far down the list once you hit a certain point. Obviously it's more important to put the most possible power to the ground. Tire spin just slows you down whether on the street, road course or strip.
The more I drive the car, the more I see the reason for the TracKey tune. No matter who tunes the car, it seems that bringing up the lower end torque will provide the greatest improvement in lap times. I just got back from banging around onto some higher speed interstate entrance ramps where the entries were about 60 degree right handers. Best I can tell there's a hole in the torque curve somewhere up to 4,000-4500 RPMs. That means lugging some out of corners or more shifts. Both of which will cost you time. WE WANT TRACKEY!, WE WANT TRACKEY!

Quick question.........once you do the Track Key, won't that change a bunch of the parameters set in by the Lund tune......which means you'll have to re-tune again???

Ok car is done...I am really happy as I have been talking with Jon Lund for a couple of days. He says the car scared him when it got sideways in 3rd and not even full throlttle sooooooooo... There is a bunch of great info has been found. I am waiting for Evo Fred or Jon lund to give me the ok to publish the numbers. Lets just say they are GOOD. They are working on a bunch of R&D using my car which expains the wait...I am ok with it as it benefits the Mustang community in whole.

nobody knew the source code in the ecm went past 7800 ala the GT. Now the Boss 302R with the stand alone PCM goes to approx 8400. So this is the first time anyone has verified the factory Boss ECM can rev past 7800! So if you knew this before that news to us....

The race cars run the same ECM. Only the emissions are omitted on the race cars. Of course different exhaust and tune.
