Well the price seems in line with what's been speculated on these forums. Maybe Edmund's reads these forums?

Unfortunately,

MSRP + ADM + The allocation lottery = a lot of unhappy Mustang fans.

I'd be ok with an MSRP of $38K, not that you will actually be able to purchase one for that at least not initially.

QFT! Guess we'll be seeing the " Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price" in MSRP taken to heart as only a suggestion. Probably going to look more like "Malicious Stealership's Ripoff Price"...

Yeah, that price seams right, I would be willing to do that, maybe even $39K, but if I had to pay over $40K, as much as I like the Boss 303, I'd have to seriously consider a new or used 2011 GT500.

its just edmunds best guess.

Destination Charge $850 $850 $850
Total with Options $38,800 N/A $38,800

and that has no options on it and you know all the dealers ordering and such are going to load these up with options like crazy.

No they won't, they can't. There is only ONE option available, a package with Recaros and the Torsen diff.

The belief seems to be that it won't have options, other that the seat and Torsen diff. This is one way they'll keep the price out of GT500 range.
I'm hoping their are a few options. I can't believe they wouldn't have a security package offered. And limited to just the base radio seems stupid too.
We'll know in a few weeks.

I believe that date is wrong based on the 9/2/10 letter to all Ford Dealers regarding the 2012 Boss Mustang Allocation Strategy which states "Production is scheduled to begin in late January and will conclude in December 2011."

Ford is probably padding the date so people don't have a stroke when it's a week or a month overdue ...

I won't be unhappy for long. I'll just go purchase a performance car that isn't a Ford.
