Damper adjustment
Damper adjustment
If anyone has tried the 5/5 setting for street use, please post your impression. It kind of difficult for my old eyes to **** with rears too often. I'm tempted to just set them once and forget the.

I am at 3/3 now. It rained today so no joy riding. I will leave it there then go to 4 then 5. I want to get use to a setting before I change to see the difference.
Really hard to say because I have not really driven it much. It feels great on 2/2 and 3/3 and did not feel the difference. I need more time to get use the car in general, you know after time you can feel if one tire is a pound low or that tiny little noise. I am not anyway near that point yet.
In any case I would not call it soft, the ride has been very nice so far, I tend to like a very firm ride anyway and on 2/2 I am getting that. I am looking to find changing the setting does to hard cornering. I drove with a 2 rear and 3 front yesterday, should have been 3/3, and in back of an Autozone there is a winding street. I took a right 135 degree turn hard in second, then a 90 turn about 75 feet ahead, again in 2nd. For a second the rear started sliding out but grabbed in a right away. I don't think it was from spinning the tires, it felt more like the whole back end slid out (right) just a bit.
Anyway I am not a race car driver and need a whole lot more time before I can give anyone reliable info on all this.

iirc, MotorTrend started the rumor of a significant difference between the std and LS settings. Until we can get someone to look up shock part numbers on both cars...

I could be wrong but what comes out of the motor mags is often not correct, if there was a big difference I would think Ford would have mentioned it. I really would be suprised to see two different adjustable struts and shocks.
They (again I've read so many reviews but I'm pretty sure it was R&T) stated something like the LS was ok for around town and short trips but would be uncomfortable for long drives. I'll see if I can find the review.
I'm pretty sure I read a quote from Ford on it as well.
Well as I said the ride on 2/2 is pretty firm, much more than most anything on the road. I use to drive my 87 Turbo Coupe in "firm ride" all the time, it was nice but this is of course is way better. I was blowing down a country road at over a hundred, came up on some patches in the asphalt and the car really snaps back after going over them. There is no long wave type feeling (sorry I can not find the right words to describe this). Anyway so much to the point it scared me because I was being stupid, this was the first time on this "country" road. So I finished the length of the normally and punched it on the return trip since I knew there was no big potholes in the road.
