bumpsteer kits....what's out there
#2
Maximum Motorsports states their kit will not fit 2011+ Mustangs with electric power steering.
Griggs Racing only ofers a kit for use with Griggs K-Member or Front Cradle
I would call Steeda to make sure their kit will work with the electric steering............

I have a few setups I am tossing around.....
However I have been told if you greatly change caster or camber (which I have done both with the MM cc plates) it is recommended to adjust the bumpsteer. I feel at times the car change direction due to suspension movements. It is nothing dangerous or crazy but it is there. I will more than likely add lowering springs which effects things even more.

I just installed my h&r rss kit last night with the mm camber kit with a 1" drop in the front and 1.5 rr. Just went over a rough potholed freeway stretch and didn't feel any bump steer yet. I'm running -2.2 camber as well. I'll report back when I have some more seat time

I'm probably preachin' to the choir, but it is critical to take the time to bump steer it correctly. So many people just toss the kit on and eyeball it, best case accomplishing nothing, and quite possibly making their bump steer worse (e.g. toe-in under bump).
FWIW I have a set of X5 balljoints (corrects 14mm), a Steeda relocation kit for the K-member (corrects 19mm), and the MM bump steer kit sitting on my workbench. They've been there for over a year.

I wish I had read this thread prior to ordering my bumpsteer kit; I ordered the MM one from CJPP, who states it will fit 2005-2012. However when I open the box, it clearly says 2005-2010, does NOT fit 2011+.
Great. Time to RMA.

06GT-that sucks to hear of your misfortune
is the steeda kit really just a bolt on a go operation? i don't want to have to drill out anything like some other bumpsteer kits require.
i believe cortex makes a kit too (no drill, like steeda). anyone used these?

sorry if this is a thread detour, but i think it's relevant to the bumpsteer issue.
the biggest symptom i have is a death wobble while braking hard on uneven surfaces. it's no big deal with around-town speeds, but if i'm threshold braking from 100+mph, i'm also pinching my *** so much i could strangulate a whale.
contributing factors could be: 285 tires up front with 10" wheels @ et27 (vs et43 in the rear; same tire size), misaligned geometry (13.8" from hub to fender.. too low for stock components?), toe out as a result recently readjusting ride height in the front (was previously set to 0 toe at 14" hub to fender).
this is why i'd like to try a bumpsteer correction kit. are my thoughts skewed?
