brake pads (street/light track use)

The 2011 Mustang GT I have is due for pad replacements. I've so far loved whatever model Ferodo's they use in the GT's. My dealer reports those pads are next to impossible to get in stock.

I believe the boss uses a different compound and was curious what the thoughts are on those pads and the part numbers (hell if someone knows what the GT pad relates to into a retail ferodo).

Otherwise, I'm looking for a pad with better performance than a hawk hps, but without all the cold squeel.

Discuss?

Difficult to avoid squealing with somewhat performance oriented pads. I have had great success with anti-sqeal spray from Brakeleen.

Search around for Ferodo DS2500's - Very good for occasional light track use.

yeah, I know a compromise pad is just something that doesn't exist, although the stock pad seemed to deal better with being on track than previous sets of HPS pads, and was very mild mannered off track with good bite while cold. Just fast consumption and dust were the issues.

If I could get that pad again, I definitely would.

I'll check out the DS2500, I see them all the time spec'ed for what I want to do (which is 90% street use, 5 trackdays a year since I've picked up a 944 to campaign seperately. I may get a second set of rotors and some DTC60's if I go to a track where I really need them).
