Boss Wheel Fitment Question
I was wondering if I can pick your brains on wheel questions.
Im planning on getting getting some Drag race wheels. Im thinking 15s Prostars.
My question is; whats the largest I can put in the rear without messing with the stabilizer relocation brackets.
Plus do you feel a 15x8 wheel would be enough tire for traction? Im definetly going with MT/ET drag radials.

I had some v6 (since I'm cheap and didn't want shell out money for good ones) rims running 26x11.50 MT ETstreets (bias ply) on my Bullitt pushing 500rwhp. As long as the track prep was good, I had no problems with traction launching around 3500 rpm. However I also had LCA relocation brackets and UMI LCA's. I kept the wheels and tires when I traded for the Boss and I have test fitted them with no problems. I have yet to run them at the track, but I really don't think I'l be having any traction problem with the same set up.

Steeda Brackets do require cutting
I would stay away from the Racestars. Several folks bend and break wheel studs with their design. Weld RTS is the way to go
My buddy has been 117.xx with a 26x11.50 15 MT ET Street radial. This is a stock boss with the baffles removed only. Seems like the 28" tall tire guys haven't been putting out that mph and that tire is slowing them down
I saw some posts where you mention running out of gear with a 17" drag radial. Can you tell me what setup you were running and about where you were hitting the rev limiter in 4th? Thanks

I'm thinking of getting the 15x10 Weld RT-S for mine with M/T ET Street Radials, part# 3755R, which are P295/55R15s and 27.8" tall. I'll be running just the TracKey tune and I don't want to hit the rev limiter in 4th. I would like to avoid cutting any portion of the rear axle, so I'll definitely be using the Steeda swaybar relocation brackets.

The consensus is that with the Steeda brackets there is no cutting required. I also confirmed that with them directly. That will enable you to run a 15x10.

I was probably 75 ft from finish line hitting rev limiter in 4th, on a 26 inch tire.

So I ran the 1/4 under 6k rpm and was able to get into 4th and then crossed line on redline. 13.00 @ 107.. That was just a test run . I ran a 7.96 first run ever with Boss in 1/8 @ 89 mph .
.
The 1/4 run 1.97 60 ft with a 8.4 in 1/8 and crossing at 13.00.

Well at full potential I was never able to get a good pass in 1/4 mile because I would hit brick wall with shifter going into 3rd or 4th if I shifted over 6k RPM.

Sounds Exactly like the problems I was having. 3rd and or 4th gear shift was a challenge at higher RPM.
Not sayin this will fix your issues.
What worked for me was changing the original trans fluid to the thinner oil by Ford. TSB paid for that. I also changed the shifter to an MGW. Changed both together so I cannot say which one contributed to the fix. I can say that I do look forward to our local track opening in the spring.
With the shifting issue behind me, I also need to find a rear tire for the track. Pirelli's give up a bit of traction from a stop.
