Boss track attack
Boss track attack
I just finished the track attack yesterday. WOW, what a great experience. It made me realize what our cars are really capable of doing and how I have no idea how to push the Boss. The people at Miller Motorsports were fantastic and encourage everyone to go. Thanks Ford Motor Company for this experience, and thanks to all the friendly people at the track. The Hot lap was a rush. Thanks again
Hello, I was there yesterday too and just got home after road tripping it there in my Boss with my Dad. Being close enough to be able to drive there made it a pretty fun trip, and as others have already said the whole event definitely lives up to the hype. I'd also like to extend a big thanks to everyone who made this possible, I had a fantastic time!
Have fun!

If you drive in, make sure to leave time to go to the Salt Flats. Took the rental out there for some fun.
If you fly in, try to check your luggage when leaving, as the Piston Cup trophy will cause you a delay if you have it in your carry on bags. No big deal, but the TSA will pull you aside. (TSA sugggets it be in checked bags.)
Just returned from the Boss Track Attack with my son yesterday: left DWF at 06:00 on Saturday, made it to Albuquerque on the first day, then hit the Grand Canyon, followed by Escalante (on Utah's Road 12), and finally Tooele on the day before the School started. We stayed at a hotel in Tooele, barely 10 mns. from the track, which saves a lot of time (plenty of choices for hotels in Tooele, no real need to go all the way to Salt Lake).
On the way back we went through Monument Valley and stopped in Zuni Pueblo for the first night (fun B&B in the middle of the Zuni Reservation), before heading for Las Cruces, and then on to White Sands National Monument and home yesterday. Five days on the road, a little over 4000 miles, and the Boss performed like a Road Mincer- with this car, I would do it again in a minute.
Also, everything you have heard about the Boss Track Attack is true. No matter how high your expectations, they will be met: world class instructors, world class facilities, fantastic cars, it may even change you! I know the Hot Laps were mind-opening for me, especially when you see one of your instructors holding the wheel with one hand only while FLYING around the track and explaining to you (hair raised and laughing at the same time) how going fast must be made to feel e-a-s-y!!!
Make sure you take the two-days option, or you will be short-changing yourself and will regret that you did not do it. The second day is really when everything 'comes together' , as many other participants have reported already.
Have fun! All of you who are about to attend the School will soon be able to add another chapter to the Legend of the Boss Track Attack :-).

Yes, I was there on July 31 for the dinner before the Track session on 8/1 and 8/2. Interestingly, there was another CO Boss when I got there, driven by a local guy. Mine was the dirty one :-)
