Auto Show

Well I went to the Chicago Auto Show today. We got slow at work, so I took the day off cause it's way better to go on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. Sorry for anyone wanting pics of the silver LS, I was solely focused on the color that I am getting

Also got to sit in the dyno car when it was being run and once when it was just sitting there. Now I have to amend my order and get the recaros and differential. The seats didn't "omg i really need this" amaze me, but they were very nice and I might as well get all the upgrades now.

Now after riding in one..even just on the dyno not moving anywhere..it makes the wait that much harder!

Anyways, here's a few pics, one of the dyno vids, and a walk around of the blue car

Excellent choice of which color to focus on.

I had a similar impression of the seats and after I sat in them I added them to my order. What did you think of the Boss wheels compared to the LS wheels? I was originally going to order the 302S wheels but I have cooled my jets on that idea. I've seen the LS twice but have never seen the Boss wheels.

Other than the fact that I think the LS wheels being red looks terrible, I really like the Boss wheels on the car. The LS wheels, if black, would look good as well but I think I would still stick with the wheels that come with the Boss.

That's the beauty of life though is that everyone has a different opinion on everything. I'm sure some people will see my car driving around and think it looks horrible. While after seeing it in person I like it even more than I did before. I loved how the paint looked up close and personal. So now I'm super anxious!

Thanks. Nice photos showing the black rear spoiler. Thoughts on the white roof?

It's different, that's for sure. I like it for that reason. I actually think the hood of the car looks out of place if they're going to do the roof like that. The hood makes you think stripe down the car, but the roof is then solid. I've said before I think it would look cool with the 302S hood (black vents painted white instead) on the Boss. Not that it will happen because I will most definitely be very satisfied with the way it looks when I get it

That would be cool. Or black and swap out the white stripes for black and paint the roof blue. Or you could paint the spokes of the wheels white along with the mirrors, rear spoiler and.... Oh it never ends.

Exactly. There are so many options to choose from. Which sometimes is the problem. Trying to figure out exactly which combination works best for your personal taste. I'll wait and see what exactly becomes available as aftermarket for this car and then go from there

From the pics above, continuing the white hood stripe, same width, over the blue roof would've looked A LOT better. The huge expanse of white across the roof just washes out the blue. I'm starting to like the blue more after seeing the various pics from this show, EXCEPT for the roof.

I actually like the white stripe on the Kona. The hood I can take or leave. The roof would have to go for me. Solid Kona with white stripe and black hood would be pretty awesome.

Regular. The dyno wasn't a full fledged dyno. They weren't pulling any real numbers off of it. The cooling wasn't set up like it needed to be. Makes it more portable for them I guess. And the big fan blowing in the front would not only get in the way, but it would be that much louder drowning out the sound of the car.

Yeah, but then also taking the stripe on the boss hood and continuing it down the front of the car as well would make it look best. Instead of having a stripe that starts on the middle of the hood

You would probably have to continue it onto the deck lid and bumpers too?

I'll need photos of that ASAP! I'm now thinking of keeping the stock wheels and changing to the gloss black stripes for a meaner look. I've seen two LS cars but no Boss so I haven't seen the wheels in person. I saw some very similar 19" sport wheels painted black on a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera S the other day and liked them.

How much are you expecting the roof painting to cost?

Just say no to Shelby stripes on a Boss. Shinoda would turn over in his grave.

No, just continue the Boss hood stripe over the top of the roof, same width. I also think the custom brunette hood ornament, though eye catching, would affect high speed aerodynamics.

If you are going to change the roof and stripes I have a few suggestions for you. This way IMO you will have a truly retro look rather then just changing a factory Boss.

Paint the roof blue like the car, the roof is silly white or black.

Since you are changing the stripes get the original flat black reflective type. If you going through the trouble I think most will find them outstanding.

Paint the hood in the same pattern or along the lines of the 69 (a bit wider) in FLAT black. You can pull the color info off the Boss302.com site. I am up in the air on the size of the hood paint since it is different shape than a 69. I am leaning to the 2012 style but in flat.

Paint the top on the deck lid in the same flat black, but not the back lip of the deck lid.

Paint the spoiler same color.

I think that would be the way to go, you are spending the money anyway so go the extra step to have one of a kind retro look and not just some changes. Just thinking about it makes me want to do mine but I am unsure how long I will have it depending on the 13.
