Anyone install tow rings yet?
The organization I'm using for a HPDE at Laguna Seca would like the participants to have tow rings front and rear because of the many grave/sand traps around the track. If you get stuck in one there is really not an easy was to pull a Boss out without damaging a bumper.
Any one have pictures or tips? I saw a 302R at Seca today with the rear ring below the license plate so there is hope that I can leave it on permanently.

Does the part include the piece that mounts to the front bumper (not the bolts/nuts)? The piece which the bolt on the ring passes through?

Photos of FR500S tow rings
This is probably doable on the front for a "street car" but on the back the hook is directly behind where the license plate sits. You could mount the bracket and then install/remove the ring for track events, but the install will require some work at both ends of the car, including complete bumper cover removal (at least that is how it looks to me.) and a pretty good eye to figure out where to cut the hole.
I have a .pdf of the template for cutting holes in the covers, but it may be applicable to the FR500S only.
I can take a couple of close-ups of the ring if needed, for those contemplating this installation (but I'm not pulling the bumper covers for 'ya)

I'd like tow rings too.
Craig bracket up front should make that doable.
Back may require a license plate shim/build up plate to keep the license plate out away from the bracket anchor.
Would be nice if we had a system like BMW does where an eye bolt screws into the bumper.
Don't plan to use the tow ring, but would be great to have if I ever need it!

It would be great if someone could post up more information on HOW this is mounted.
I live in OH, which requires the front plate. Mounting the tow loops as shown here would be perfect for me, because the slots in the bumper-covers would be hidden behind the plates. Then if I need a tow, I could just pull the plate off, insert the loop in the bracket and that's all.
For track days I'd just pull the plates and attach the loops before going out.

Sorry, but I can't disassemble the bumper cover to provide a "behind the scenes" look at how it attaches.

Thanks Charlie, I wouldn't ask you to take the car back apart.
There's enough people on here with the race teams and serious track-people, I'm hoping somebody can post up some pics, or at least a good description with part numbers and such.
I've also considered trying to find a way to use the Rennline screw-in hook with their threaded mount, then just have a 1" hole in the bumper cover that could be covered with the rubber or plastic grommet...

FR500S Part, not sure if it's the same for 302R/S
Can't find it on FRPP's site anymore but Rehagen might have some in stock still:

SD GT posted in #9 above about possibly using a "Craig Bracket" Any idea what that is?

What I posted actually replaces the stock bumper beam. 4 bolts on each side. Old one comes off, new one goes on.

Thanks 06GT! I'm pretty sure that since the tow loop is in the center of the bumper, this beam is needed because the bumper itself would bend if you pulled in the middle. (Depending on how "stuck" the car was.)
I wonder if there's a "rear beam", or if this one works out back also...? I sent them an email, so I'll post up if I found out anything else.

That part may not fit the 302. I saw this car with the ring off center.

The Boss 302S comes with the rings mounted in the center of the bumper.
