Any upgrades going into the Boss manual trans?
With the current 2011 6spd manual shifting and clutch problems,is Ford including any upgrades to the Boss trans?
Be ashame to have those troubles in a car made for performance driving.

The clutch is upgraded but the trans is not. There might be some changes internally for 2012 MY trans (I hope) but I have not read anything specific on that possibility yet.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this but the problem was not with the clutch or any parts. It was that they put too much lock-tight on the flywheel bolts and they "hydro-locked" and did not seat all the way in. The problem has been corrected I far as I know.

Anyways, don't worry, be happy.
On the flip side I've always heard how great Honda manuals are, well we have a 2001 accord that you have a hell of a time getting in to 2nd when it's cold out, until it warms up, I guess we should have told honda to shove it because their transmissions a pile of crap, relax I think it's fine. That brings me to my other point, if it's an import, well then it's 1 in a million, if it's a domestic, it's every single one, since domestics are crap, and we know that right? I've seen it and heard it all before, people are far more critical of their first domestic purchase than their 10th import. BTW the mustang is my first domestic too.

I have a 2011GT the build date was frist week july 2010 . I got 11,183 miles on the car. I have had zero clutch problems with the car . I been driving manual trans cars as my DD for 30 years now. There only one knock i can say about the trans in the 2011GT its cold temp. shfiting sucks .Then the trans is warm it shift as nice as any trans i have had in the pass. My last car was a EVO8 it had a 5 spd. and that cars trans in cold weather is light years ahead of the 2011GT . Now i didn't use stock gear oil in the EVOs trans. and that may have help it out . It could be as easy as a oil change in the 2011GT trans. to fixs the cold weather shifting trouble .

As usual,it depends on how you drive it. In most everyday use,it should work fine. However, under hard use, with more than stock power, there have been some problems. A couple of the tuner shops, are now installing the Magnum T-56 as an upgrade, for the hardcore 2011+ Mustang street/strip racers.
I guess time will tell, how a stock Boss,on a road race Track day will fare.
It's a shame that an engine,as great as the new Boss 302 can be built in the USA, but at present, no company can build a reliable manual trans, for OEM installation, right here in the USA! Remember the old Ford Top Loaders, GM Muncie-M22 and Chrysler Hemi 4 speeds,of America's past!
