Any new recomends on tires?

Ready for another set of tires. Looking for stock tire sizes on the stock rims for a regular '12 Boss. Looking for a cheaper alternative to Pirellis that won't harm performance. Recommends?

I was thinking those or the Bridgestone but looks like its either OEM or Michelin PS 2 as no one can get me anything else before this weekends upcoming track day. ****.

Toyo. Best tire for the price for sure.

I've gotten 3 track days and about 5000 miles(&still going) on the v12's. Very decent tire for the money.

For primarily street driving, it is really hard to beat the Hankook Ventus V12 mentioned above. A VERY good tire for the money. Available in stock sizes.

For a track tire, we've been using the Yokohama AD08 in the following sizes;

265/35-19 in the front and;
295/30-19 in the rears

This is a very good track tire that will give you about 85% of the "stick" as a Hoosier but will last at least 2-3 times as long as the Hoosier.

I absolutely hated those tires on my M3. The grip sucked and they were fairly noisy. Some people claim to have had good luck with them but I hated them.

Decided to go with the Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position. Ordered them from Tirerack and will drive over border for pickup and install. Expect a full report after a visit to Mosport Monday.

Must be you are headed to the GHMC event. I just heard about it the other day, just a little late! I too ordered S-04's. I have had them sitting in my shop now for a couple of months. They look like they could be a good tire. I am having mine installed next week.

That's the event; Mustangs at Mosport. Getting my tires installed Friday. Hoping they last longer than the P Zeros which got greasy around 20,000 KMs.

First day on the Bridgestones. Stiffer sidewall so I expected a harsher ride but the ride felt, for lack of a better word, bouncy. They were also more susceptible to tram-lining. The turn it however was noticeable better. We'll see what the next few days unveil.

First trackday report. Found the turn in greatly improved over the stock Pirellis, but the rear end felt looser. Dialed down the rear shocks from 5 to 3 and then 2 (Fronts stayed at 5) and felt an improvement but after a couple of laps they felt loose again. Wasn't till I got home and downloaded the track data I realized why. I picked up significant time dropping from an average of 2:10 to 2:40 a lap into the low :50's with one hero lap of 1:47; the lap where I though my tires and brakes were letting me down. Turns out my driving was letting me down. Time for a driver mod.

My Michelins stuck to the track at Mosport

Just to report I was pleasantly surprised with my Pilot Sport tires. It was my first time on a track at the Mustangs at Mosport event. It was a great day, and scary awesome for the newbie. I chased FenderAddict and thought the lower setting worked well on his Boss. A shout out to GHMA and Steve Mason along with the crew for a fantastic event.

I had hoped to try the BFGs but no chance of having them in time.

On another note, glad to see GunmetalGT500 has joined TMS. Welcome! Lots of valuable info here.

Steve, what hot air pressures were you running in the S-04's at Mosport?

Hot I was running 40/41. Had to inflate them to 36/34 for that outcome. Hot day and my driving was rusty. Going to try 35/35 at TMS next with bars set 4/3 front/rear and see how that goes.
