Aftermarket GPS

I've seen several threads out there on the web, but could not find one here.

Any other Boss owners out there considering replacing the stock head unit and upgrading to a GPS/bluetooth...etc system?

I honestly dont need it 90% of the time, but on some longer road trips the GPS, text to voice bluetooth and DVD come in handy.

If you have a smart phone ,download the Magellan road mate app .It is the best GPS NAV out there. It even does live traffic .Get a mount and you are all set!

Well I don’t listen to the radio very often while driving as it distracts from the Boss sound, but I've become increasingly annoyed with using my smart phone GPS.
I did a bit of searching and found what seems to be the only adapter you can buy to fit our cars which will allow for a factory look and feel when installing aftermarket GPS:

As far at the actual head units I think I'm leaning towards some of the newer units and in particular the new for 2012 Pioneer AVIC Z140BH:

From what I've read you can also remap the Steering wheel controls so that you can pick up calls or activate the voice recognition function...much like Sync.
At this point I'm still figuring out what will work and what wont, but any opinions are very much appreciated.
Thanks!

There are a couple kits to fit aftermarket head units - Scosche and Metra (who came out with another version). There are discussions about them in this forum: https://themustangsource.com/f803/

Thanks! Lots of good info there.
Feel a bit silly not finding the info in "'10-14 Interior and Audio"

I'll go have a read and see how some of the other folks have faired with their installs.

Thanks again!

You can certainly buy the Metra kit from Amazon or eBay much cheaper than Crutchfield. I paid just over $200 for mine.
