302S Grill Replacement Question..

Grill should be here this week...just for info..I looked at the installation instructions for a Roush grill to try and find out what I'm up against.
THEIR instructions say that the whole front fascia had to be removed to get the grill out..Is this accurate?
Never had mine out so I'm wondering how hard this will be..
Thanks for your time to reply.

You don't have to remove the front clip. It's an easy process and takes about 10 minutes or less after you've done it once. Here's a how-to:

You don't have to remove any bolts, and you can look at the back of the S grill to see all the tabs. You just have to monkey with it, getting all the tabs out one by one without them falling back in.

Where did you order your 302S grille from? Latemodel has it on sale for 310 with free shipping. Interested in getting one

Use a long screwdriver and pull while pushing on the tabs. There are two tabs on either side. They are in pretty tight but I doubt you'll break anything since it's made of ABS plastic.

do the side tabs have to be complete out for the grill to move?
I have the side tags released (not out completely) and the grill still feels holding back

Did you removed the two small bolts on top? I believe there are two tabs across the bottom as well but they usually pull right out.

It's a bit early for Beer Thirty but that might help.

Keep constant pulling pressure on it. Work your way from one side to the other. You don't have your location listed, maybe someone in your 'hood could help you.

It's not really necessary, but it does allow you to rotate the plastic blocks that they hold down giving you easier access to the side tabs.

Just installed mine earlier today. As Rick stated, I used a long plastic trim tool (paranoid about scratching something) to push on the side tabs while gently pulling out. Removing the two bolts at the top (one on each side) makes it easier to get the tool in there and on the tab. Bottom tab was the hardest to push on due to access.

While it may have taken me a little longer than 10 minutes, it ended up being easier than I thought. I almost solicited another set of hands to pull while I was pushing, but I ended up doing it by myself.

Good luck!

The 10 minute comment was after I'd had mine in and out after several track weekends. First time took a little longer I'm hoping not to have to practice this anymore with the air-to-oil cooler, but with temps projected around 90 next weekend I'll find out soon!

Wasn't too bad..... thanks for all the tips.
Question is, did you paint the 302S grille like the stocker or leave it dark grey?
