302R / GT = First On Race Day, Boss should be next!

Ok, so there are no Boss 302's listed in the results, but as the 302R is essentially the same (yeah I know it costs twice as much as an LS and is pure race, but c'mon, we all know a properly setup Boss 302 will in the same ballpark, esp. if a 5.0 GT can do it!)
Got this link from my co-worker who owns 2 M3's one street, and one he races, (also an SCCA instructor). He loves the new Mustang's and mentioned he would love to sell his track BMW and get a Mustang instead if he could. I think money has something to do with that, but nice to know just how much respect this new breed of Mustangs has out in real racing world. He's been trying to get me out on the track myself with my G37S, but I sold it before I had the chance and now am saving up for a new GT or Boss.
I really would like to have fun with a Boss as there are tracks where I live and even an NHRA drag strip. No shortage of options here, but just need to fill that empty spot in the garage!

So the fastest lap of all competitors at Barber was a 302R at 1:38.354 by the third place finisher. What most surprised me was how off the pace the Porsche 997s were, with a best lap time of 1:40.228. That's just not competitive with the Boss.
Just got this tidbit on those race results, perhaps the 997s want to rev higher?
The Grand Sport M3s, like the Rolex Series GT M3, had been given rev restrictions by Grand-Am before the race; a limit of 8250 rpm was imposed on the previously unrestricted engines in the E92s.

I was actually at the race on Saturady. I love that track. Jack Jr. drove the heck out of the #61 Roush Performance Boss before handing it over to Johnson.
The #9 Camaro did fairly well in the intial few laps before the #15 Multimatic Boss started to walk away and then Roush eventually passed them both in the first half of the race.
After the various pits and driver changes, the #15 eventually rose to the top and the Turner BMW was never really a threat in the end.
What I want to see is Ford get a Boss into the GT class. Lot of Camaros in there, but no Mustangs...

Anyone who has followed the Grand-Am Cup / KONI Challenge Series / KONI Sports Car Challenge or as it's know now the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge has seen whenever one manufacturer becomes dominant Grand-Am adds weight, or RPMs get dropped to level out the field.
Back in 2005 when the FR500C won its debut race and kept going to grab the title, every time Grand-Am added weigh the engineers found power.........
But a really big part of road racing is strategy, when to pit, take it easy on the tires and don’t use them up early so you have them for latter in the race, etc, etc, etc…..
Take a look at the attached mandated setup for the cars from 2010 and you'll see some of what I'm talking about.
