2nd Annual Mustang/Ford Roundup at Motorsports Park Hastings!!!!
#223
Considering they lost at least 5 participants to the Mustang roundup, the Balingits might be accommodating for us, maybe even put the HPR or PMP event closer to this one.
Is the roundup going to be this same weekend every year (my anniversary weekend! Thanks honey!) ??

It'd be great if next year's event didn't conflict with the NASA RM PPIR (actually RIPP) event next year, too, as I like going backwards at PPIR, not forward so much...

EDIT: On second thought, ignore this request, I doubt I'll be able to afford doing two separate events on this trip. MPH OR BUST!

[QUOTE=Fastoldman;6448754]Though I was on the track during the weekend , these last shots show what a great group of owners showed up for the car show. This should help us get alot more folks out for the 2013 Event, as the car show portion of the Roundup was every bit as cool as the track time. I think showing folks out there the great display of Mustangs and Fords will bring in even more enthusiasts ---- and we all seem to party at about the same level in the evening at the Clubhouse, ha!
Got off work Friday around noon and we headed from Omaha to the Hastings Musuem to sign up our 08' Vista Blue Shelby GT for Level A. All I really wanted to do was see the car show Friday night and hear the Ford guys talk, then go to the track Saturday and watch the Mustangs on the track for a few hours , get my tee shirt and go. It turned out awesome! I ended up staying the whole day Saturday, and didnt leave until the drag races where over because my wife wanted to stay to see the new Ford Cobra Jet race the 428 Fairlane . Wow, never thought that would happen. The people we meet out there where friendly too.
The car show parade laps where a highlight for me. I found myself out on the track between the famous Bangastang GT 500 Hell Snake and a 1969 Boss 429 followed by a perfect unrestored 70' Boss 302. That is like being in Mustang heaven. The parade laps where fast enough to understand why it is so easy to get race fever. Being an also ran in this car show was a pleasure. The whole Round Up was laid back and no intimidation at all. And did I say the weather was perfect.
It was great to see JR in his white 07' Shelby GT #15 running fast times. He made the 4.6 owners proud.
Thanks for a great time

Cobra Dan, was that you drag racing those new Boss 302's with your Comet. I loved the vintage sound of that 289.
I would also like to thank the owners of the 69' Boss 429 , 70' Boss 302, and 66' GT 350 for driving their cars to the track. How many chances will you ever get to share the road/track with cars like that. That very day at Barrett-Jackson a Boss 429 sold for $230,000.

I figured I need to try a Hail Mary and see if I could reach Mark Wilson and see if there was any hope of salvaging the weekend. Fortunately I was able to connect with him while he was at the SCCA runoffs at Road America (way to give those Vette's hell btw ) and explained my dilemma. He just asked one question....."what's the address of the track".
