265 40 19 tire on the front?
OEM Boss Fronts: 255 40 19 vs 265 40 19
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos
Anyone try this yet?
a little wider and a little taller....
thoughts?
I'm wearing out on outside edges pretty fast...

Do your comparison as 255x40x19 vs. 285x35x19 (rear) and then again with the 265x40x19.
The tire height is -.24 in the rear
The tire diameter is -.5 in the rear
I don't think that is enough to freak out the ABS or traction control... but something to think about.

A buddy of mine is using Boss wheels on his GT and he's running Michelins in 265/40R19 front / 275/40R19 rear ... meaty!

285s will fit up front with no issues I believe as well. I haven't seen him in awhile but a guy name Reverend ran 285/40R18's all the way on his 05-09 car with no issues using the same gen GT500 wheel.
As an example of what will fit dimensionally

JPC photos are not necessary as the 265's have plenty of clearance and like others have stated the 285's fit with most wheel offsets. You'll need a front spacer to clear the strut with most tires that are wider than 285.
I do track my car but I have a set of Enkei PF01's in 9.5 an d10.5 widths with Hankook RS3's mounted with 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 tires. The Hankook's are a lot stickier than the stock Pirelli's. I'm probably going to try the PSS tires at the track just to see what they are like. I expect them to be similar to the Hankook's in dry performance. And more rubber is better on our heavy cars.

Go to action.zenfolio.com ( Rupert Berrington Action Photos ) and then go to new additions . Under 2013 NASA HPR TT there are a bunch of pictures of my car at speed at High Plains Raceway (pg 22 ) --- running on used Grand Am Continental slicks in the sizes I listed on Enkei rims. Car has the stock suspension, stock sway bars , with the only modifications of any note being MM camber plates, Girodisc two piece rotors, MGW short throw shift kit, Corsa axle back , Carbotech pads ( 24s in front , 10s in the rear ) and that is about it.
No rubbing of the tires and the grip is about the same as an R6 Hoosier ( Hoosier builds the slicks for Continental ).

295x40x18 Hoo-hoos. That's Bill behind me (per usual) on the 285s.
I'll be back on 305/650/18s (which are actually SMALLER than the 295 hoo-hoos) in 2 weeks... I think they fit better anyway.
