2014 Z/28 Faster than boss 302?

Im curious how this car war will turn out. But a rumored 70k for this camaro.... ?
The camaro packs as much punch as the ZL1...and they (chevy in this case) say the Z/28 is a track car. Here is just one quote:

“As the ultimate track-capable Camaro, this car restores the mission of the original Z/28, and serves as a testament to the expertise of Chevrolet as the best-selling brand of performance cars,” said Mark Reuss, president, GM North America. “The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight, high-revving, dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers for track use; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

I am not impressed. Lets see GM build a car to compete with the Boss that is the same money. If you throw enough money at just about any car you can make it a corner carving animal.

Mustangs are my favorite muscle car. That said, I love all muscle cars in general. This will be a hot car. It's amazing watching cars just seem to get better and better. I am afraid of the day when laws on speed, power, and fuel mileage kill the muscle car as we know it. Until then, I can't wait to see what Ford, Chevy, and Dodge come out with next.

Exactly, it's not like they reinvented the wheel or came up with some new extravagant design. They dumped money into a SS, got results and called it a z28. Any joe smoe can do the same.

I just hope Ford offers something at this price point with all the track equipment from the factory, that will leave the Camaro in the dust and nip at the Z06s heels on the road course

2 driveshafts in your Boss Gary? Carry a spare between the Recaros?

I've had a ride in the new body style Camaro. Not impressed with the interior one bit, understanding that some other sports car enthusiasts put down the Mustang... But the biggest problem is no visibility, I feel like a U-boat captain behind the wheel of this thing.

How many of these will you see at the track?

About as many as the Z06. I know a few that take their "Baby" to the track and run hard but not many. That's around the same price point. I can just see the mark-up that will happen with that thing. Who wants to pay more for a car you still can't see out of when you are going even faster?

I think it is a brute of a car, i like it. Would i buy one....no. I don't road race enough to justify that kind of money. And i can't see anyone buying it to drive on the street....not with those tires anyway. But i guess if you can afford it...then you can afford to replace the tires every few months. I still like it though.

3-5" of snow again today. It's for ballast in the trunk.

For the money this car is rumored to cost, not worth it IMO. Rather buy a GT, spend 10k on upgrades and have a car that will keep up or beat it and still be 20k less.
