Dibs on one of the 2013 models!
Seriously. I called it. There better be one for me when I'm ready to buy.

also, note the book's publication date: April 15, 2011.
And about the authors -
John Clor:
"After returning to Ford and managing its SVT and Shelby GT500 website for more than a half-decade, John penned and published a hardcover history book titled, The Mustang Dynasty, whose first printing had sold out in just 12 weeks. Today, John creates and manages Ford Racing website content for the Ford Performance Group and www.FordPerformance.com as an Account Director for PCGCampbell, a Dearborn-based marketing communications agency. Still active in car clubs as a director of the SVT Owners Association and serving as editor of its SVT Enthusiast club magazine, John is the proud owner of three Seventies-era Mustangs – two of which he still describes as “long-term projects.”
Donald Farr:
"Donald Farr is the current Editor of the famous Mustang Monthly Magazine published in the US and distributed worldwide.
His career started as an amateur photograph contributing for SAAC publications and led to a job from Larry Dobbs as an editor for Mustang Monthly already in 1980.
His most famous book in the Mustang world is the BOSS 302 book pictured here that is still today a treasure. Even for longtime Mustang and BOSS enthusiasts.
In our exclusive series of Interviews I am glad that Donald could take the time to answer my questions... despite his busy schedule and we'd like to apologize to the BOSS guys for keeping him for a day or two from working on his new BOSS book. "

Well this will make the '70 stripe lovers happy. Personally I think the reverse C stripe fits perfectly with the side line's on the new mustang.
Now if Ford would only start releasing some more facts about options, pricing, mystery key, etc.!!!

Nice find! More insight into how many Ford will make. 7,000 copies copies of the "street" Boss is more than I was anticipating so that's good news. Now we'll have to do the math to find out how many each dealer might be allocated

Yes, we know that is true based on the simple math of the number of dealers versus the production volume. My point was, based on the "share of nation" strategy unveiled recently, a small number of larger dealers will get multiple copies while many other smaller or low Mustang volume dealers won't get any.

All Ford dealers are going to have a chance at getting a Boss, for some the odds will be quite high and for others it will be a huge long shot.

why telling us only 2 years of production? if the boss is sucessful/meaning lots of orders/demands from public and it sells fast..
why they can't produce it on a regular basis??--long term-- are they planning a special model for it's 50th anniversary in 2014???? what will be this model? cobra r ?

So with the Boss they have split the production over 2 years and thus also mimicked '69 and '70 Boss production.
They won't continue to make it after it's 2 year run, if they did the car would lose it's uniqueness. But don't worry, Ford will come out with another mustang edition that will have people beating down the dealer's doors to get at it.

They also can't go too high because then you're into GT500 money so you may as well buy the Shelby if they're priced that high.

I think the 8,000 units over 2 years of production is a reasonable number. You have the Shelby as the expensive "mass produced" special edition. And then you have the GT/CS as the much more affordable special edition, albeit a cosmetic-only special edition. This production total will keep the Boss reasonably rare, but not 1969 Boss 302-rare.
