The new cars have wheel hop as reported by various sources. Some say it's pretty severe FWIW.

Do you have some links to articles or reviews that mention this? Thank you!

200 miles on my 2015 GT Premium with auto, 3.55 rear end, and 20" wheel/tires package. Took off in 2nd gear w/sport plus selected and LOTS of wheel hop on new, smooth asphalt. Oh well

Brenspeed's video on the car, and man, the wheel hop...

About the 4:20 mark. Dude. Like a rabbit.

There's no trailing (leading?) link to the suspension to fix this. There has to be a link to the frame to arrest the hop. That and better bushings, I'm sure, all over. If you depend on just the IRS arms and all that in the 'box' of the IRS suspension, it's over. Kangaroo time on launch, unless you use traction control/are that **** good/kill the clutch.

IMO, not an engineer, but that's what I can understand about the why.

Thanks! At first I read your statement as "Dude Looks Like a Rabbit", but I admit my eyes need help

Yes Brenspeed is the first video to watch. Here is a write up and video from American Muscle.

Their are others as well.

I would have thought Ford would have fixed this, with line lock being on the GT's. Sad to hear, read and see this (wheel hop)

Is there wheel hop with line lock? I don't have bandwidth to watch vids.

As I have posted before, I don't think line lock is a good comparison because with the front brakes locked any rwd can sit and spin.

But trying to utilize HP and get traction off the line for forward movement is completely different.

Yep that was my disappointment in the design, they likely could have eliminated it with a white sheet design but didn't.

And that IRS is such a gargantuan behemoth, you'd think it would have everything dialed in. Maybe even a toaster and a blender too!

That thing is HUGE! Looks like a bolt on.

I have pretty nasty wheel hop on my Challenger and won't buy another IRS vehicle. Is there any truth to the rumor about a solid axle being an option?

Wheel hop happens when the rear is allowed to rotate or otherwise move under stress. Add an arm to create a solid triangle and it will go away. I'm sure someone makes a leading or trailing arm kit for your Challenger. There are already several people offering one for the new Mustang and it's only been out a few months.

For the Challenger you can try the hopnot kit, Google hopnot.com. I put it on my SRT8 and it took most of it away but not all. Mine was a manual transmission and first & second hopped horribly before I installed the kit.

Mine's also a 6 speed - Hopped all over the place this morning on hard 1st gear acceleration. At this point I'll give it a shot, but I heard that reviews were somewhat mixed.

I am highly curious at to what BMR, et al, are going to do about a kit to get this fixed. I just read about the Hop Not Kit for Challenger, and man... that's a mess.

The IRS on the '15 is a real challenge, though, because of the way it's made, and where one might get a trailing link.

I first have a problem with where to attach to the bottom side near the wheel. I'm guessing the front lower link, outer attachment somewhere is the place to get an arm on it somehow.

But to the body... there's the fun bit. I don't see a real good place to stick it. I'm afeared of a semi-massive piece put on the body at two attach points.

I can't wait to see what really happens though. Should be interesting, to say the least. And I sure hope CJ or AM or LMR or another posts a video on how to, 'cause that's going to be cool to watch, I bet.
