Who makes a harness bar for the 2015/2017 GT

Looking for a harness bar so I can install a 4 point belt the correct way. I know there is one of the vendors that has a bar available for 2015/2017 but it's over $600.00 seems kinda expensive. Thanks

What about the adapter belt that hooks into the backseat latches?

What do you mean by "lessens the angle"? They all put the belt in about the same place. That was not what you specified in your original post.

More important: if you are going to use a harness, you should have a roll bar. Otherwise you can get crushed in a roll over because you are held upright in the seat and cannot move downward to avoid it.

The one in the AM link does not have a roll bar so I would keep looking to find one that does.

Hey Bert, interesting thought!

I go back and forth on this one. I'm considering the Schroth harness as well. I hit 140mph at track days, and after popping a break line this past season at Mid Ohio I'm ready to start investing into more safety equipment.

So do you think that in a roll over with a normal seat belt you're any better off than with a 4 point?

That's what I have read, yes -- "they say" that if you are going to use a harness, you need to go all the way and get at least a roll bar, better yet a full cage but not as necessary as a bar to prevent the roof from crushing down. The harness holds you up so well that your head will get crushed and/or neck broken because you can't slump down in the seat like you can with a regular lap/shoulder belt, if the roof comes down.

Plus race seats will not break away and fold down like the regular seats with the hinged/adjustable back do.

Or so they say . . . and I'm glad to say I haven't actually tested it to find out if they are right!

I didn't even get on track at all this year, but toward the end of last year I was starting to realize that things could get very bad if I lost it at the speeds I was traveling and started to think about safety equipment also.

Good point about a roll over and not being able to get out of the way of the roof. My interest in a 4 point harness is for the occasional auto x which is usually a low speed event. a harness makes it easier to stay in the seat. I'm told the steep angle used when attaching a harness to rear seat belt att. points is not good because of the possibility of a spine injury due to compression.

yeah for Auto-X you are probably OK without the roll bar . . . and I understand about the downward pressure with a harness because I am fairly tall so they press down on my shoulders . . . I guess if I am going to go farther with this track thing I really need to get a seat that is properly sized for me and also the roll/harness bar
