Wheel options for the 2015

I saw these for the first time on the Barcelona reveal video (sorry for quality)

These are RED HOT for me. I've always been more of a 5 spoke rims guy over the multi-spoke and black rims (looks dirty and busy to me). I hope these are available on some models, I don't see them on the Ford website, but I think there will be many more than the 4 shown on the Ford website (dealer brochure mentions 17" rims which are not shown on website and "one of the widest selections of wheels ever" or something). These look pretty big here, maybe 18 or 19" ? I am not good at judging that.

Thoughts on these and other rims for the 2015? Please share pics of the other rims we've seen so far and what your favorite is.

That's not a GT so I'm guessing they are 17" or 18" wheels. They do look like a major upgrade over the hideous options offered on the current V6 models. They all look like cheap plastic. I would be interested to see these wheels on a new GT.

The 2015 is the prettiest looking base Mustang I've ever seen. I assume my original picture is the eco boost 4 (since Ford is trying to showcase it), so I guess it wouldn't technically qualify as a base model, but I think maybe minus a badge somewhere touting the eco boost, the turbo 4 and V6 will look mostly the same. If that's the case I'm happy, as some previous base mustangs throughout history are hideous looking compared to the GT. Let's hope the wheels in my OP or something similar are offered for the GT, as I'm not thrilled with any we've seen, but there is one I've seen so far that is OK to me:

^I'm liking those GT/Premium (?) wheels...

But none look as good as the outgoing Brembo Brake Package wheels to my eye.

Do we know if hey're keeping the same 5x4.5" bolt pattern?

I agree that the wheel options are terrible thus far. The ones on the Dearborn car look good from certain angles, but then they look awful from other angles. Hopefully they will change or add more choices.

Cool

Wheels are something you must see in person to decide if you like them. Remember how well the coffin wheel looks on the current Mustang. The body color plays a part as to how well the wheel will look on a car.

Those wheels are 19" if you look at photos of the tires sizes. I think these might be the optional 19" wheels for the I4 with performance package. I also hope they make it to the GT.

I don't really like the black rims either. I think I'll go also with the 5 spoke rims. They look much nicer IMO. I've always been a big fan of spinner wheels. I was kinda hoping Ford had something special along those lines for the 2015 Mustang.

Don't worry...they will spin. Stationary wheels would mean vastly worse fuel economy.

Maybe it's my bias from my first and only Mustang, a 1993 GT. Back then the ("5 star pony wheels" is what we called them I think) were hot. They looked so much better than any previous wheel of that generation that I became a fan of the 5 spoke look over anything else. Best looking 16" wheels in a long time, imo....The chrome version was also popular but I've never been fully sold on Chrome wheels. They look ok on black cars only, imo.

Remember these bad boys?

I love the new 20s featured on both the two NYC cars and Dearborn reveal car. However it looks like they may not be available with the performance pack (which uses the staggered blacked out 19s) so that is gonna be a tough choice depending on what the final options choices look like. Still the new standard GT brakes are 13.9 so they will still fill the 20 in wheel. Tho it would be nice to have those beastly 15 inchers behind them. however with the new lower body the 19s might fit the car just right.

Hmm, I think those would look nice on the new body. I kind of thing that with an all-new body I'd like to see a break from almost all of the wheels being five-spoke.

Chrome wheels are a must have on red Mustangs, in my opinion, which for me, is the only opinion that counts. Well maybe my wife's opinion counts, at least a tiny bit, or maybe more...

if these mules are closer to production i.e. hubs, bolt pattern, scrub radius, etc then it appears they used similar specs to fitting a wheel in the wheel well. much of the current aftermarket may even translate

this one appears to have the 11/12 boss wheel on the front.

GT500 rears.

This is a good thing as I think the consensus is that the new wheels just aren't doing it for a lot of folks. Myself included. Should be some great aftermarket options as well as some good OE substitutes.

Someone chopped some of the wheels onto the Guard shown at the Detroit show

I still like lower left 5 spoke, though I understand these are the smallest.
