I don't own one of the new GT's but I'm curious, does Ford recommend 5W-50 for the PP like they did for the previous generation's TP or is everything 5W-20 now? If no 5W-50 recommendation now, why do you think that is?

Someone sent me a link to the owner's manual for the new 15 Mustang and I didn't see any reference to 5W-50 as an approved oil and they did not have the PP separated but maybe there is a separate page that was not included in the PDF file I received.

I wonder what prompted Ford to change from 5w20 to 5w50 for its performance cars? The Terminators call for 5w20 and the switch occurred with the 09 GT500 as it calls for 5w50

On one of the other forums I asked this same question and asked for anyone who had a PP to tell me what their oil fill cap said and two people showed pictures of theirs and it says 5W-20 so I guess Ford has went back to 5W-20 for some reason. I'm just curious as to why they did.
