An Unlikely Comparison
So I was looking at some Magazines yesterday at Barnes and Noble and came across a picture that made me think about the 2015 Mustang. Especially the Shape of Quarter Panel by the Tail Light area when viewed from the side. It's been bugging me what car it reminded Me of until I saw the Pic in the Magazine. It reminds Me of a Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona Coupe. Even the shape of the DLO and the Quarter Windows have a Similar Feel to them.
Even Viewed from a Rear 3/4 view you can see the similarities. The Angle of the Rear Panel is Very Similar too. I know the Mustang looks more Muscular because of the Hips, but I see the similarities in the Greenhouse and Tail End.
Even the Head Restraints that We've seen on the Convertible look like those Used by Ferrari on the 365 GTB Daytona. I Personally hope the Coupes get those Same Head Rests, even though I have only seen them in the Red Eco-Boost Coupe from the Good Morning America Reveal.

I'm not saying the Mustang looks like a 365 GTB Daytona. What I'm talking about is the shape of the Quarter Panel when viewed from the side by the Tail Lights mainly and the Angle of the Back Panel between the Tail Lights. Also the Shape of the DLO or Outline of the Side Glass and Quarter Window. I think the Mustang looks more Muscular because of the Hips though.

I'm not the only one who sees it. I've had several people say they see what I'm talking about. I'm not comparing the 2015 Mustang directly to a Ferrari Daytona . I'm simply pointing out a few details that are Undeniable. The pictures above dont lie. All you have to do is look at the pic's I posted and you can see the points I'm making are valid.

Oh Yeah... I'm Delusional
I Never Said it was a Ferrari, or that the Designers at Ford were trying to Copy Ferrari... just that the Design Elements I highlighted Remind Me of the Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona, which just happens to be Highly Regarded as one of the Most Beautiful Cars Ever Made.
As for "the Euro Styling" being Sacrilege... May I Remind You that the Grill of the Original Mustang WAS Inspired by Ferraris of the Era. The Original Mustang came to be after Edsel Ford II came back from a European Vacation and Ordered the Design Departments to Create a Small Sporty Car with European Flair that would Appeal to Younger People, and Military Troups returning to the States from Europe. Edsel Ford II had a Strong Personal Rivalry with Enzo Ferrari which eventually led to the GT-40, but Things like the Long Hood Short Deck, Fastback Roofline, Grill and C-Scoop (which originally was designed to simulate brake cooling ducts) were All Inspired by European Sports Car Design of the 60's.

I see a little of the Ferrari in the 2015. My wife thinks the rear pictures of the 2015 Mustang look like a Porsche 911, i'm starting to see that too

I know, my mother in laws boy friend thought the pic I showed him floating around here of the silver 2015 mustang with black rims was a Porsche aswell. He drives an Audi s5 and didn't believe it was a mustang.

Sure looks like Mustang designers were "inspired", maybe unconsciously, by the Ferrari.
At some point just about everything has been done. One thing I saw that I miss are the vent window on the old carss. We gained nothing by removing that except a piece of plastic blocking visibility and light. Wish somebody would bring 'em back.
