So i bought mustang 2 months ago. From germany. All changes for European roads are made.. like yellow blinkers intead or red.. and all the other stuff. And it was registered and driven in germany for years. And all the paperwork is good. And now when i got it to serbia. All paperwork is right.. but it has VIN number engraved/stamped on cars bodywork. And they said there is no paperwork who engraved it on car. And thats the only one problem that holds me back from being able to register it. Germany said it was engraved in America and they let it drive in Germany. But i can not get any paperwork proof it was engraved in America.. would you know something more where i could find who did it? Like would factory to it? And would they give paper they did it?

For Those Wondering Where The Vins Lurk!



On a 2016 Ford Mustang, the primary Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) are located
on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield) and on a sticker in the driver's side door jamb. Other locations include the engine firewall, the passenger side frame rail near the radiator, and sometimes under the passenger seat carpet.
Primary VIN Locations (Visible):

Driver's Side Dashboard: Visible through the lower driver's side corner of the windshield.
Driver's Side Door Jamb: A white/silver sticker on the door frame, usually above the latch.

Secondary/Hidden VIN Locations:

Engine Firewall: Stamped onto the firewall in the engine bay.
Passenger Side Frame Rail: Near the radiator.
Under Passenger Seat: Hidden under the carpet/seat structure.
Vehicle Documents: Registration, insurance documents, and the FordPass app/Sync screen.

Dealing with VIN issues during international registration is always a massive headache especially when inspectors get picky about local stamps. It is a good thing KC helped find those factory locations because a proper vin check SPAM REMOVED online can usually clear up any confusion regarding where the numbers should be. Sometimes these extra engravings only make local authorities more suspicious even if everything was done legally in a different country.

im writing to let you know that i finally received paper needed to register.
It helped a bit, but i got one more paper from germany too, saying why they accepted that number. So its finally set. Will receive plates today or latest tomorrow.

If the engraved VINs match the VIN on the dash and rest of the factory locations, then it is likely that it was sold to the original buyer by the dealer as an Anti-theft package. It is quite common throughout the years to see this and even Hertz Rent a Car did this on their SVO Mustangs they rented in 1985. They would usually do an acid etching on the glass which would be a first indication of this type of thing done. If the car was traded and the owner did not pass along that info, then it would be lost and there would be no real way to track it aside from contacting various companies who offer it to see if they had records...provided they are still in business.
