Funny how pre-conceived notions and perceptions can change.

I've been itchin' to see a '15 convertible in Triple Yellow. I was convinced that this would be the hot combo. I even gave a fleeting thought to perhaps giving up my black '14 and getting a TY ragtop in '16 or '17.

And when I first saw a Ruby Red S550 on a dealer lot last December, I remember thinking that the color didn't work anywhere near as well as on an S197. I just didn't get the warm fuzzies.

Yesterday at a local cruise event, two 2015's made an appearance. I rushed to see the TY 'vert that had just rolled in, and frankly it did nothing for me. It just didn't explode in my face as I thought it would.

And the Ruby Red that I was so d@mn sure was the wrong color? Well, I stand corrected. That color did explode in my face.

But i do like that ruby red a lot, also dig the DIB on these.

 

OK. I won't say that anymore. How 'bout Ruby Red gave me a boner.....would that be better?

 

There's a ruby red with PP at my dealer. when i'm in there for whatever reason i sit nearby and stare at it. It's ben there a while though. Priced a bit high at 51k cdn i guess.

Yes the Ruby Red is gorgeous on the S550 and on the GT500's from the previous body style!

 

If Ruby Red wasn't so darn close to the wretched color of the rival school in my state, I would have got it on my car.

 

If I was looking at a 2015 Ruby Red would be one of the colors I would look at, as well as Magnetic, Ingot, and Guard.

 

love the new interior- the angled 'stripes' on the door panel kinda remind me of silverhorse door handles, maybe ford got some inspiration from those...


on the yellow, I dont dislike the color, but think a bit bolder- like old corvette daytona yellow- might look even better- its a little on the pastel side to me. the red looks a lot like the old 'redfire' color, a favorite shade of mine, even if I prefer blue...that redfire just 'pops' in the sun unlike any factory color ive ever seen...
