Recently I got interested in owning a Mustang GT. I am a Camaro guy, been for many years. Still have 2 of them and just sold my 2017 Camaro RS. Looking to buy a 6th Gen Mustang.
1- I am just starting to research this. I have heard 2018 up would be a better idea. Is there any year among this generation, 2018 to 2023 that is significantly better than the others?
2- What would you pay for a 2018 base model GT with under 60K miles? Given no mechanical issues and no major accidents?
3- Are these Mustangs 50 state emission certified?
While I Can't Say For Sure If All Mustangs of That Vintage are All 50 State Legal, I would Say as Long as They are Stock and No Tune Bringing The Car From a Non Green State To California When {Used} Should Not Be a Big Issue. I Checked and See You Are in California So I Understand The Need For The Question. Now if Per Se You Buy a Car From a Very Unregulated State and it Has Non CARB APPROVED Mods Then You Will Have To Put Back Stock.
If You Can Buy From an Original Owner and Get The Whole Story on It's History it Would Certainly Be Better Than a Car Lot Where Little is Known About The Car. Any Car That Seems To Get Sold Every Couple of Years Maybe a Problem Child and I Would Stay Away From!
As Far As The Best S-550 To Buy Per Year I Have No Input on That and Perhaps Someone Else Could Chime in On That! Oh I Would Mention With All The Floods We Have Had Here & There Don't Get a Water Damaged Car! Sooner or Later It Will Come Back & Bite You If Water Got into The Works! Too Much Electrical These Days!
I don't know if one of the years is better than others, but I have a 2020 and love it. It's a GT Premium convertible.
And yes, those are child seats in the back for our granddaughters.

Welcome! You will enjoy a GT model even with Camaros in your garage. I've had my F-body since it was new and it's cool owning both. They are both special rides.
I have no input on the newer models here but I sure enjoyed all of my GT's in the past and my 2014 currently.
