Hmmm... Sync, being powered by Microsoft, is pushing this option for the iPod but not the Zune??

This is interesting news. Thanks for posting!

I hope this isn't going to be part of the $2000 Electronics package is it? I'd like if it was a seperate option. Maybe it will be? Here's what Ford said.

"HD Radio and iTunes song tagging will be part of an infotainment package launching next year.”

This gives me a chance to ask a question -- I've never operated SYNC before, and the local dealership knows nothing about SYNC. (That's right. When I asked a question about it, the salesman pulled out the Ford Taurus guide and read the SYNC paragraph, word for word. He couldn't answer any questions I had about it.)

Since SYNC 2.0 will be on the 5.0 I'm going to get, will it work as advertised with my fourth and fifth-generation iPod Nanos? I know Apple is *****y about their product code, and thus wasn't sure if the iPods worked with SYNC like the other mp3 players do.

I hope it does. I really want to be able to plug my iPod Nano into my Mustang, and play my favorite song as I leave the parking lot in Pennsylvania after picking up my 5.0 and starting the engine for the first time.

As far as I know all versions of Sync are fully compatible with all versions of the iPod. Ford would be stupid if they didn't make it work with the most popular MP3 player on the market.

Thanks, man. I wasn't sure, because they never come right out and say 'iPod,' and I own an Xbox 360 that will NOT work with an iPod (I know, Microsoft and Apple) despite the fact that it did before Apple threatened to sue. So, SYNC being developed by Microsoft... you can probably see why I asked what seemed like a dumb question.

Thank you for answering and not belittling me, though!

I know for certain that the older version of sync works with the 4th gen nano. I had one in my rental last year when I was in mineral Wells TX. It worked flawlessly.
